I think the ideal length is between 50 minutes and 70 minutes, but there is no hard and fast rule on lengths

Mine's 54 minutes. And it kicks ass.

The person who gets it better be able to appreciate great music. Cause if they're not, this is a damn waste of some great songs.

Now that you said it I feel a bit self concious. Mine is only a little over 40 minutes. Gotta find a song or two. :\

Don't feel self-conscious! This shouldn't be about proving anything, just sharing music that you really enjoy. :nice:

I just feel like... I'm a little bit... short

(whoa! It sounded like I was talking about penis :laugh3:)

A short mixtape just means you were more selective about your songs, and people are less likely to get bored/impatient.

Just to let you guys know I'm away from 20th to 24th so I won't be able to listen to your mixtape. Unless I get it on the 19th when I'm still at home. :)

True, I tried to keep that in mind when I was making mine. At one point I had about 18 or 19 songs but I realized that anyone who is as insanely busy as I am (I'm sure we all are :()wouldn't have the patience to sit and listen for such a long time!

mine ended up being just a bit under an hour ten. I think its a good mix. Few rock, intrumentals, bit of indie and some demo songs.

Mine is about 55 min. at the moment, but I'll probably end up exchanging a few of them for more shorter songs instead of all 5 min+ songs...I know I love all the ones I put on so far, but I can see someone else getting bored easily or already knowing a few of them. :\

Hmm.. I think I'm gonna wait to see who my partner is.

v1 of mine is complete. Subject to change based on who I get.

^ me too...I've tried to make all the songs work together so I hope I don't have to revise it too much...:\

I have a loosely organized list of 15 tracks that I plan on moving around or eliminating depending on who I get.

This is exciting!

I have that with like 25 songs. So I need to get rid of at least half.

:\

Mine's not very organized.. but I think I know what direction I wanna go in. So it won't be bad, just waiting to see who I get.
