Saying that sorta thing just implies "hai gaiz, look, I am teh arrogantz and refuse to change my opinyonz!" You could at least be open-minded to changing your ideas/opinions/ideals/whatever you want to call them in any amount when debating with someone. Otherwise debating over a point is pointless - none will reach a conclusion, and you'll never gain anything from it.

I came across a great interview, documentary, whatever... :D - The Ticking of Clocks - and there is this fellow who says "I kind of wish that they'd stayed small. The more Coldplay concerts I go to, the further back I'm getting" :D

I don't care if people started liking Coldplay because of VLV. As long as it's not the only song they like, but I'm pretty sure that most people on this site love a good number of Coldplay songs at least:P

I agree with you. VLV doesn't sound like U2. I also understand how you feel, because I also hate that some people think that just because I'm an obsessive fangirl that I only love Coldplay because they're hot. I loved Coldplay way before I even knew who Chris Martin was.

yes, I think it's really weird to hate people for becoming fans after Viva. Because of my age i really didn't listen to the radio all that often when the other albums came out, so i had no exposure to Coldplay. On top of it my parents and older brother did not listen to them. I had absolutely no way of knowing their music until recently.

I'd heard several of their songs (mostly the hits) before, but it was VLV that got me hooked. Don't get me wrong, I love their other stuff, too; I own all four albums. Kinda wish I'd gotten into the band sooner! I was like, 10 when Parachutes came out, and I've only really started paying attention to specific bands recently. I plan on sticking around to see what else they come up with.
