Which songs will they play off of viva next tour?

Featured Replies

I would have to say they will play viva, lost, lovers in japan, and maybe death and all his friends. I would hope they would still play life in technicolor ii, but we will see. They will always play, yellow, clocks, the scientist, politik, fix you, and I would think viva la vida. They ignored x&y for this tour, so it is hard to say. They said they are making a concept album next time, and a smaller tour, so it might be harder to predict which songs they would play, but it is fun trying to think about it.

They will most likely play Viva la Vida, Lovers In Japan, and Life In Technicolor ii. All of there hits will definitely be played. I don't know what else. I will just be so happy when the next album comes out! :)

i hope they'll play clocks and politik

and the rest it doesn't matter

oh no lovers in japan too :drunk:

i want butterflies

Off of Viva...

Viva la Vida

Lost! (sadly, but it gets a lot of crowd response)

Lovers in Japan

Death and All His Friends

they're not gonna keep death and all his friends. Intro and outro songs die out with each album unless they're big fan favorites like politik, but I can't see DAAHF's fitting in the middle of a set. Assuming you mean the tour after the next album, they'll most likely end with the last track on LP5.

They're definitely keeping Viva la Vida and probably Lovers, but as for violet hill, lost! and 42, I think its a toss up...but Lost! might have the upper hand. We'll probably see LIT II again at some point too.

Oh yea I forgot about Violet Hill...and yea you're probably right about DAAHF.

If I could keep any one song I'd keep LiT.

I think your right about Death and all.... it will be interesting to see what songs they add for the european dates.

"Viva la Vida" is gonna stay with the band until the end of their careers, like it or not.

"Lovers in Japan" is the song I'd most like to see return, and its butterflies seem to make it popular enough to keep.

"Violet Hill" and "Life in Technicolor ii" are pretty popular but aren't for certain whether they're gonna stay.

I'd actually like to see "Lost!" turned into "Lost?" next tour.

I predict everything else is history.

+1

lost? would be awesome.

the only one id really like to see them continue playing is lovers in japan. and no, not because of the butterflies. i think it sounds awesome live, especially jonnys guitar.

id probably keep viva, too. just for will:P

I wonder if they'll ever get a closer that they'll use all the time. Like U2 ends with I Still Haven't Found.. almost all the time, and Radiohead has closed with Street Spirit a lot. I wonder if they'll have a usual closer eventually. Seemed like Fix You kinda fit perfectly in that spot. I wouldn't mind hearing that as the show closer for a long time. It's a crowd favorite, a good sing-along, and it starts quiet and has the perfect ending for a live show. I think it's their best closer to date.

Lost! will for sure become Lost?

Viva is a hard one for me to predict. I cant see them doing that whole set up again especially if they drop Lost! Timpany and bell seem useless and worn out. I'd love to see them retool Viva, it has a great melody and can easily be stripped down for amazingness.

Lovers will stay for sure. Rest is a toss up. I love LiT II as a closer, but I think it could fit perfectly for Encore II.

Politik will stay. Clocks will stay, Yellow may end up a odd throw in. In My Place gets to goos of a crowd response, that song is the best live song ever.

Hard to tell though. the album opener will open the show though. Politik, Square One, LiT, ???

I was just thinking about this the other day actually - I'm personally hoping Strawberry Swing makes a big splash as a single next month because I'd love to see it back at concerts in the future. Violet Hill I think is a no, and no Cemetaries of London or LiT. I have a feeling they'll keep either 42 or DAAHF just because of the guitar/piano solos in them that aren't really seen in other songs of theirs. Lost! is a maybe, and I hope they keep Lovers as well. Viva la Vida though, I kind of wish they'd let that rest for a tour BUT I can't deny how great it is when the crowd gets into it..

Whoops, double post :(

yesyesyesyesyes.

Yeah, I think they're smart enough to keep In My Place.

I am, however, deeply concerned for Politik. It's one of their best live songs, but I can't help but feel it was damn lucky to stick around this time, and I'm not sure it has the fan momentum to continue. I hope I'm seriously wrong.

Green Eyes is toast, though.

Did you guys really think IMP got a great fan response? Your concerts might have been different than mine, but that, in addition to Violet Hill, seemed to be the weakest bits for the crowd. And I wouldn't worry too much about Politik - it's a lot of fun for everybody involved. I think they love it, the crowd does get into it due to the blasting chorus, and even Roadie 42 mentioned how it's his favorite song live. I don't think they'll let that gem go. Maybe for a few shows but they'll definitely play it in the future.

Politik will always have a home on their shows. Its Chris' favorite song!

In My Place was insane in Vancouver. It just has a great beat, great riff, and a great chorus. "YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAHHHH"

In an interview when the were on the hour in canada, chris said there best 4 songs are fix you, politik, yellow, clocks. so I think they will always play these songs for sure.

IMP was huge at Hartford last year. The entire crowd sang the whole chorus, not even just the "yeah" part. It was epic, and only beaten out by Lost! as far as crowd response.

IMP was also HUGE in Dallas!

LIT - AMAZING opener. The lights, the cover screen during the song are amazing. Its more of an opener though but LIT2 has a good chance of making the next tour.

COL - Great song, just not that popular, nope.

LOST - maybe.. maybe a slower piano version.

42 - possibly

LIJ - a must!

YES - nope

VIVA - of course

VH - maybe but leaning toward no

SS - probably not

DAAHF - its a closing song, probably not
