And Mumford and Sons sound nothing like fleet foxes! They're more a softer version of someone like the Pogues. They're in my top 50.

 

I agree. Similarities between them and the fleet foxes are minimal.

You can put them both in the folk category, but then different subcategories of folk.

And an ETA for my top 50 is about 20th of Dec. I've already submitted a rough list for this, but this will be a mega unveiling. Cos I put heaps of effort in!

i guess its the whole mainstream-ing of that folk sound that has dominated the indie scene for the past 3yrs that kinda bugs me and feels like a low blow to my male music fan ego. i gave the band a chance but not a fair chance, my prejudices and stubborness have gotten in the way.
