Tips for people coming to Mexico (and Latin America)

As a woman it's pretty easy to sneak a camera, you just have to put it inside your bra and that's all :P. I have done it several times at Foro Sol and I haven't had any problem at all, once you pass the entrance with your camera hidden, you can get it out with no problems, just in case if a guy from security is near you take your pictures quickly and hide it.

Lol. I know. Sadly I don't wear a bra. :( It doesn't go with my style

Foro sol sucks.

Really Mexico city is not that dangeroud as the media and peor say. It s of course, but people exagerate. Just take care and do not show a paisanito face

a what?

Good call on making this thread Ricardo! Just don't get used to getting compliments from me :p

So far I've only got one question: How harsh is the Foro Sol's no camera policy??

And Miguel you are such a girl :P  You just get out of the venue, walk to the nearest metro station, mind your own bussiness and go back to your hotel. You'll be fine :nice:

Oh, and btw for those who want front row, just get there early people, there's no way around that :dozey:

How early is early?

Hehehe, I've read it too but I'm not sure much of that stuff would actually work here :P Mexican security people can be real jerks when they want to be :dozey:

no cameras allowed at all??????

I don't think the camera-in-bra trick would work on me, my camera's pretty big it would look like I've got a robo-cop boob :P

hahaha:laugh3:

In your case is foreigner

Well, I've been told that everysingle time I've been to Mexico city "Don't act like you're from out of town!! :wreck:" Well, guess what? I AM from out of town  I mean, I don't stare at the sky and the tall buildings like I'd never seen a skyscrapper :laugh3: but I think my accent makes it pretty obvious that I'm not from there. So I don't think anyone will have a problem, I never have :nice:

@LiquidSky

I'm not really sure how early people will start queing, it all depends if GA tixx will be on sale or not

And about the cameras, mexican venues tend to be VERY strict about that, I've never been to Foro Sol, but I've been told they have a pretty strict no-camera policy :\ But if you can manage to pass it through, you'll have no problem once you're in :nice:

Oh, and Ricardo this

Lol. I know. Sadly I don't wear a bra. :( It doesn't go with my style
Might change after you win the Mrs coldplaying award!

hahahaha ..... some people do that though, there's this guy from latin american idol (yeah I saw it ) and he was from provincia I don't remember which, but he had to go to the city for the casting, and he said "I never though the city was this big!" :o

Bahahahahaha  Ohh poor little guy

I know... but what's the problem if people from the city knows you're from provincia?

Not really a problem, it's just that a lot of people asociate being from provincia to being naive and easy to fool. Which makes you an easy target in Mexico city. However that doesn't seem to apply to everyone, as I can say from personal experience that my accent gets recognized in a second over there, yet thanks to the reputation my state/city has they always seem to think I've got a loaded gun in my purse :dozey:

OMG you have a loaded gun in your purse?

This is an excellent topic.

I will say that everyone will know that I am a tourist because I have really blond hair, and I know I will act and look lost.

It's scary for me because I will going to this concert all by myself.

Mmmm I would not stay near there. Unless you want to gen to those creepy hotels xD. If you dont want to do anything but the concert stay in the AirPort, which is relatively close to the stadium. But i you want to take a good image of México city do not move around the AirPort and foro sol areas.

hahahahahahaha

Don't laugh, this is serious stuff!!

Stupid city I live in, I've been tagged!!! Whenever I've been to the south of the country is always the same thing, I feel like I've got to continuously apologise 'cause they have a problem with my accent :dozey: I'm not pissed off, that's just the natural volume of my voice :shame:

Trust me you won't be either the only blond nor the only turist. Like Ricardo said, just try to stay around turistic areas, it'll be easier for you to move around and get directions easily. Plus there's TONS to see, not a chance to get bored :nice: And among the sea of turists that are usually around there, you'll look like just another one of them :nice:

Jajaja , ok , but I hate my bra, it's so ..........bra.

HOW EARLY IS EARLY PEOPLE??

what?

what's with your bra?? :S

I don't understand anything you said.

MM so bra... I mean unconfortable:thinking:, have you ever slept with one???:inquisitive:

they're are so bra....anyway, but I'll try to carry a camera there.

My only advice is:

1) Get there at about 9am

2) Avoid drinking anything before the concert (in case you can't get out of the line you're in)

3) If you plan on meeting them after the concert then you might want to get ready to RUN cos they leave fast

1) Llega alrededor de las 9 am

2) Evita tomar líquidos antes del concierto (en caso de que no puedas salir de la fila en la que estás)

3)Si quieres conocerlos después del concierto será mejor que CORRAS porque se van rápído

:)

Oh and I almost forgot.. don't take a lot of stuff or else you'll have the most uncomfortable concert of your life

Ah y casi se me olvida.. no llevar muchas cosas o sino tendrás el concierto más incómodo de tu vida

I anyone from Mexico can assist me with buying tickets, I would be eternally grateful. :D
