Tips for people coming to Mexico (and Latin America)

I am going to the Guadalajra show and I will be arriving a few days early since I have to pick up my tickets. Any advice on what to see in the area? Places to go. Restuarants to eat out. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

There's lots to see and do there. Id recommend a trip to Tequila on a train as well. But ask someone else since I dont remembe well about Guadalajara

Mexico City, Monterrey, or Guadalajara?

Monterrey, but Eduardo is already helping me out.

Are there thing to do in and around Monterrey as well? It doesn't really seem a typical holiday location. :P

well, on Monterrey theres a lot of good stuffs (im telling you cuz i born and live here :D)

there's the Paseo Santa Lucía, a riverwalk made-by-man really pretty... that its from the Parque Fundidora to the Museo de Historia Mexicana (a mouseum about the mexican history), also its very close from the Palacio Gobernamental, that as i know there is where ur gobernator stays

but i you got more time (i mean days) you can also go to the Cola de Caballo (a natural waterfall) and to the Grutas de García.

*bumps again* So the day is near, any doubts? Want a tip?

A really good tip for taking cameras in, and if you can go with signs to the concert

I wanna know about the signs too!!

For the Killers gig I put my camera in its little black bag, and then I placed it at the very bottom of my purse which was all black inside so you couldn't see my camera :D Dunno if it's harder to get cameras in Foro Sol or any of the other venues :uhoh:

Hide them well. And I'm not sure if they will let signs in.

me llevare pañal?

Recommendations for a hotel near the foro sol?

trying to convince my sis to go with me for a weekend, i'm from ny =D

keep the information coming everyone! I need all the help I can get XD

We are staying at the Hilton in the airport which is about a mile from the Foro Sol. There is also a Holiday Inn a little closer to Foro Sol, and cheaper than the Hilton, but the area surrounding the hotel did not look great. Good luck!

HI guys......My husband & I are coming from Chicago and I think your talking about info I need to know, but in Spanish,

.....definitely something about bathrooms and weather.

We're going to both shows at Foro Sol and I was wondering if there is a place to stand in line before the gates open that is safe....and is there access to food, water or bathrooms any where near that?

And then once your in, like in US concerts, if you are standing in front, can you leave to go to the bathroom/get a drink and people will let you work your way back to your spot?.... I'm getting the impression that may not be the case here.

.... Lastly, we are staying at the Ramada Aeropuerto which I may be understanding isn't the safest area of the big city . We couldn't look MORE like tourists if we tried. (My husband is 6'3 and blondish, and my hair is platinum white....not exactly subtle.) Any advice for prepping for this 48 hour concert marathon.

Thanks for any advice ~Kelly
