tauiwi
I was having this thought in another thread... how good would these albums (or in the X&Y b sides case an EP) be from each album era (or around)'s B-Sides? I have logically ordered them so they flow... and they make for some killer playlists. My fave is the A Rush Of Blood To The Head era, seriously.. this album is 5-star. From the Parachutes Era: From the Rush Of Blood Era: From the X&Y Era: Anyone else agree, or have better ideas for positions of the songs in each album? The AROBTTH era was so incredible, no B-Side was 'actual' b side quality.
coldplayisawesome
this is so hard... but i think maybe X&Y.
Zeya
Shit I voted wrongly. I wanted to choose X&Y but voted AROBTTH instead.. But I think both have fair number of good bsides anyway..
Nikki84
Tough choice, but I went for X&Y
tauiwi
Yeah? X&Y really didn't have many songs. Reckon they are better than album tracks?
Italian Plastic
ROBTTH!
Stefan8
There is no live version of Gravity on the Talk single I think. Parachutes or AROBTTH has the best b-sides imo.
Nikki84
^ I know one of my singles has Gravity on it, but can't remember which one. Had a look at the official website's discography and if you look at the Talk single, it does say Gravity is on. btw, my Talk single has 3 different cd's with about 7 live songs from the Arnhem concert, no Gravity on it though
Stefan8
Yes, the studio version is on Talk, but not a live version.
Nikki84
Aaah right, yes yes. I must have downloaded the live version then.

anniea89
Definately not VLV that's for sure. If there was one fault with this era it was the lack of b-sides/proper singles- however I think this was countered by Prospekt's March EP. Voted for AROBTTH, but runner up is X&Y. tauiwi
I agree, but I guess they kept all of the songs with the intention of releasing an Ep.. which they didn't with the other albums. If prospekt's march wasn't an ep, and the songs were released as b-sides with singles, would this make the viva era the best?
Stefan8
Viva era b-sides: A Spell a Rebel Yell Lost? (also Lost@ and Lost+) Death Will Never Conquer The Goldrush I like The Goldrush, but the rest is just 'ok'. If songs like Glass of Water and Rainy Day would be b-sides they would be better than the singles. :p

If prospekt's march wasn't an ep, and the songs were released as b-sides with singles, would this make the viva era the best? Probably. It's just that because those songs were being record for a mini-album, they don't sound like b-sides. That doesn't make any sense, lol!
Jay Niguez
This could only be X&Y for me. Even the B-Sides sound better than others bands' albums. They did sound like official, I haven't been disappointed if the B-Sides had been the album. In addition I don't like the other B-Sides that much ... manu_jalm
This is so hard..I say AROBTTH
nathey42
I went for AROBTTH but otherwise it would of been the b-sides from the Parachutes era. I particularly love Careful Where You Stand and have always thought this to be a hugely underrated song.

djibou
The X&Y era was superb when it comes to b-sides. I mean, How You See The World, Sleeping Sun, Proof, Gravity... kickass songs! Of course, some of the AROBTTH songs were awesome too (One I Love, I Ran Away, Crests of Waves), but I prefer the X&Y ones :P
chlllll
difficult:\ i think parachutes or AROBTTH. can't really choose..
Tnspieler1012
great poll, I'm in state of agony deciding between Parachutes & AROBTTH. The latter had the most, and churned out consistently amazing tracks like I Ran Away, Crests of Waves, Animals, One I Love, etc. which are still among my all time faves. But I feel the parachutes b-sides like bigger stronger, you only live twice live, careful where you stand, no more keeping my feet on the ground., and the improved version of brother's and sisters are more legendary if not much better. X&Y had a few amazing tracks too, gravity, sleeping sun and HYSTW no.2 but the rest weren't quite up to par of the previous album's b-sides. :ediot: oh, and I don't think the Brother's & Sisters and Blue Room E.P.'s should count as parachutes era b-sides, otherwise this would be no contest. Do you not have the trouble single?
Corkus
X&Y. Any of those B-sides could have fit onto the album seamlessly, and a few like Gravity and Things I Don't Understand are probably better than a few songs on the actual album. AROBTTH B-sides win for quantity, but there are a couple I don't like.
