Hi everybody!

Nancy didn't dare to open a thread, so I just did it :P

Can you please tell me if Google Translate just made me sound like a fool?

Is the thread title correct? :uhoh:

Have fun hanging around here and speaking in a language I don't understand!

 Anna

Hello mc_squared,

Not me, but I know that Whigfield is a Danish model who had success (debut at UK no. 1) with that song.

Denmark has had other successful bands / artists:

AQUA with Barbie Girl (4 weeks no. 1 i UK i 1997, second most sold song in the UK in 1997 after Elton John's "Goodbye, England's Rose about Princess Diana who died on 31 August 1997), and TURN BACK TIME - song from a movie feat. Gwyneth Paltrow - both the four Aqua members and Gwyneth and the male actor in that movie appear in the video. The single debuted on UK no. 1, but left that position after only one week. Aqua has had huge success in Denmark with a single called "Back to the 80s". I think that the single will be released in the UK soon / or maybe just has been released.

Then Denmark has another popular band which is not my type of tea (in fact I am so tired of that band - maybe that is the reason why I cannot remember the name) - but there was a tune "adopted" by the English football team and also used as a ringtone - that single reached no. 1 on UK's chart. The singer's name is Lina Rafn.

Alphabeat: Fascination (reached top 10 in the UK charts) - and now Alphabeat has a catchy, new single out in Denmark called: The Spell (put the spell on me).

This bands / duo's name is Infernal, and the song was "From Paris to Berlin".

I fully agree.

And that Infernal song "From Paris to Berlin" reached no. 2 in the English charts.

Another popular band is Danish MEW which released an album with a title consisting of 3 or 4 lines some months ago. The album was given 6* (out of 6 possible) by the reviewers. And the frontman of the group Jonas Bjerre has a collaboration with Guy Berryman in the band Apparatjik (not sure of the spelling, nor is Guy, or so he once said in an interview) - the third Apparatjik member is Norwegian Magne from A-Ha.

Et sted for for danske fans and friends

A little rhyme to keep this thread active

because it is really attractive

It is for us Danes and our friends

I hope that it does not already end

We must create a friendly atmosphere

so that more visitors will come here

Haha, thank you for making a thread for Danes Anna .

And thank you for telling me about it, Mark :).

Nå men så har vi jo endelig fået en tråd til de danske fans.

Godt initiativ Nancy! Nu mangler vi bare nogle danskere vi kan skrive med. ;).

Another award for Viva la Vida has been won :)

and that is indeed warming my heart just like the sun

I simply love this song and find it so very good

that its winning prices is quite well understood! :D

That piece of news really made my day

hopefully more awards will come Coldplay's way! :laugh3:

You really do seem to like spending your time,

Entertaining Coldplayers with your latest rhyme.

Are you a poet in disguise,

Or because you're a Dane is it no surprise?

Maybe you're Whigfield,

Could I be right?

Is this what you do every Saturday night?

Et sted for danske fans

Et lille rim for at holde tråden i gang

Et lille vers i stedet for en sang

Not many posters here I am afraid

I would like this thread not to "go dead"

It would be nice to keep this thread alive

but please more posters than only about five!
