This lineup is just isn't BRIT enough for me.

I am 1000% going to Laneway festival regardless of the lineup.

Well I'm glad I didn't stay up! The only bands I'd be interested in seeing and that I haven't seen before are

Black Keys

LCD Soundsystem

Crystal Castles

John Butler

Children Collide

Yep, Sunset Sounds and/or Laneway for me. Hopefully both!

Or maybe save for Arcade Fire shows :D

That sounded awesome Grace. I am so pissed off the Wombats didn't sideshow but I guess they'll come back here once their album is done. How were Cut Copy's new songs?

...

If you saw my list you'd be slow.

Haha, I know that! It's just a lot for me, is all :P

Cut Copy only played one new song apart from Where I'm Going, because they came on stage 10min late. But the new one I heard was good, a bit the same but different if you know what I mean! It had jungle drums in it anyway :P

Also, very annoyed there were no Wombats sideshows too. But that's what I'm banking on as well.

Just different tastes I guess. Still with the amount of festivals going on, there is bound to be one that you''ll like. BDO is no great loss.

mixed reactions to BDO lineup but it's all positive at the ARIAs.

Angus & Julia Stone - Big Jet Plane (Original Matters/EMI)

Birds of Tokyo – Plans (EMI)

Sia - Clap Your Hands (Monkey Puzzle/Inertia)

The Temper Trap - Love Lost (Liberation Music)

not sure how rock cloud control is but very happy with this

Washington, A+J Stone, birds of tokyo and Sia all picked up 6 noms. tame impala and temper trap have 5 each. finally an awards night with some common sense.

Wow. This is so true. I dont know what is more shocking, this or the BDO. Except this is obviously a good shock.

Now for my Laneway predictions (from):

Arcade Fire

Foals

Two Door Cinema Club

Ra Ra Riot

Cut Copy

Beach House

Boy & Bear

Washington

Best Coast

Pulled Apart By Horses

The Drums

Bombay Bicycle Club

The Kooks

Caribou

Wild Nothing

Wavves

Freelance Whales

^^

the rumours seems to be saying that arcade fire will not be touring with a festival. whats Laneway's capacity?

^^Let's hope these predictions are more accurate than your BDO predictions!

I think you'd be safe to cross the Drums off that list straight away, given they're kinda not together any more :P

Heard the good news about the aria noms, my vote would go to Angus and Julia, then Temper Trap, then Cloud Control in order of what you put above :wacky:

The Arcade Fire prediction is ridiculous! they're too big for Laneways, I'd say.

if Best Coast and Wavves do it then I am there. like, I will buy tickets as soon as they're available. Haha.

Laneway is usually about 6000 people from what ive read. AF could play bigger venues by themselves. Laneway is the only major festival left to announce its lineup so imo it's most likely that AF will tour by themselves.

BDO tix are $155 + fees so make it 165. i can go to sunset sounds and enjoy 2 days of great music for that much.

I didn't realise Laneway festival was so small. I think I'd rather see Arcade Fire at their own show anyway.

Anyone know when we should expect the announcement? And about how much tickets will be?

Melb laneway holds 8000. Line up is announced oct 12. Tix last year were 120. Yeah arcade fire were a long shot... Just really want to see them. And the drums are still alive grace they have a new temporary drummer filling in for them on this debut album tour.

Don't worry, Arcade Fire will do a proper headlining australian tour.

But will they play in New Zealand?

Fingers crossed for ya, eddie

that depends eddie. what can NZ offer them? theyre a pretty big band so there arent enough women in NZ to satisfy ALL the members of AF. might need to come up with something else......

we've got sheep

lol but if they only go to australia, I'll probably still go. They're one of my favourite bands...worth travelling for

I hope they tour in Feburary/march and not january. I need to get some money.

Oh, and these ARIA nominations are brilliant. Finally something that reflects the strength of Australias music industry.

And the drums are still alive grace they have a new temporary drummer filling in for them on this debut album tour.

Pretty sure it's the guitarist that quit :P

Anyway, I guess I'm just uncertain that they'll be touring much more after this American tour unless the new guy's going to become a permanent member of the band.

Hopefully they make it work though.

Plenty of them, too.

My bad. But those guitar parts on that album are NOT hard.
