Last July Coldplay performed at Rock Werchter (Belgium). All the artists there were asked to paint a mask that would be sold for charity. When they asked Coldplay, Chris spend all the time he could and painted a whole canvas :nice:.

It will be sold tonight. If anyone is interested, I just found out you can bid online.

This is the canvas

And here's the link if you want to bid

Others masks are from Lily Allen, Bloc Party, Black Eyed Peas, Elbow, Franz Ferdinand, etc...

This is so cute

There is not so much interest in this on the board, apparantly :\

Anyway, it got sold for 1.700 euro, about 2.500 dollars.

:stunned:

Wow, this is a huuuge amount!

Of course we are interested in this news, but you know sometimes it takes a few days to see and be aware of a new thread, that's why sometimes there is no immediate response.

I just saw this thread now!

No, thanks for posting the news!!

Good to hear someone paid so much for it... I wouldn't :P

Right? It'd have to at least have some color in it for me to even consider buying it at all, let alone for that much.

Ah Chris. Very few people can scribble for 45 seconds and have the end result sell for thousands of dollars. He is blessed, as is the charity that received the funds. :)

Aww that's cute! Very Chris :P There's no way anyone can deny that's an original Martin!

Glad it got sold at a good price, even if it's not the most interesting piece of art out there :P it's great people do that for charity :nice:
