Violet
I don't really mess much with Pokémon? However... 1. In a Super Smash Bros. Melee setting, I like Pikachu. 2. In a Super Smash Bros. Brawl setting, I use Pokémon Trainer a lot, and I'm very much a Squirtle person. 3. I think Piplup is the cutest little Pokémon EVER.

Violet
Nick: Depends on the type of food/my mood that day. I eat sandwiches much more frequently, however, so I'm gonna go with that. Emma: IDK if there's anything specific. I say a lot of things on a regular basis. I'm known for saying, "It's whatev, man" a lot of the time.

Violet
It depends on what party it is and who's all there. I'm going to safely assume my party, in which case that would be me. :P

Violet
Wrong! New Zealand likes to rock the party. This is the "Ask Violet anything" thread, not the "Ask Violet Questions with Obscure Answers and Expect Her to Get Them Right" thread. :P But then again, that might not have been the case at all, in which case I apologize. :P Should I go with my brother to Boston over spring break? If you want to go with your brother, and if you have the resources, I don't see why you shouldn't.
Crests
Are you my hero?
Violet
It makes me sad to see that Crests is the only person to ask me a question since my last look at this thread. Maybe it's just because I'm that bored and awake. It's 1:25 am right now. I'm in the midst of working on a paper due at 4 pm. I'm almost finished, and I'm like, completely awake because I've had two small cups of coffee, neither of which were decaf. -AWAKE- Anyway. Am I your hero? That's not up to me to decide. I would venture to say no, because I wouldn't think you know me well enough to pick me as one, and I'm not really worth that sort of status. :P
Megalomania
Why do movies that were originally books tend to suck?
Violet
I sincerely wish I knew the answer to that, for I highly agree with the above statement. Or at least, the books are almost always better. Now, there are books like To Kill A Mockingbird and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest that have translated into great movies. However, the books are still better. The only instance in which I can say I enjoyed the movie more than the literature is with Oscar Wilde's play The Importance of Being Earnest. The movie is awesome. :wacky:
alyssa
Is Matt Bellamy amazing? Yes, or yes?
HorrificAttack
Why do movies that were originally books tend to suck? They are 2 drastically different formats, it's understandable that things that were brilliant in a book might not necessarily come across as well in a TV show/film, the best ones are often ones that take inspiration from a book rather than doing a word for word remake. Dexter for example, the books are really really bad, the show is great because it doesn't follow the book religiously.

HorrificAttack
True Plus! If you are a fan of something, you generally aren't going to enjoy an interpretation of it that is different to the one you had in your head.
Megalomania
True again. But even people that hadn't read the books for the movies I was thinking of said they absolutely sucked
HorrificAttack
True again. But even people that hadn't read the books for the movies I was thinking of said they absolutely sucked Well then the question should be "Why are some films shit?" some directors have shit visions for things, look at Peter Jackson with The Lovely Bones, it's an absolutely horrid movie, everything about it was wrong. Plus going back to my first point theuy can try to be too loyal to the book and it doesn't work, using The Lovely Bones again, they try to develop all these smaller plotlines that were in the book, but never really fulfil them so by attempting to stick to the original content they make the film so much worse and ridiculous for everyone as people who have never read the book wont appreciate the effort gone in to make it match the original content and the people who have read it will complain that it's not developed enough. Some ideas just work better in certain formats.
Megalomania
Yeah you're right. And movies made into books can be just as bad, so I guess it just depends
