Welcome to the club. :uhoh: I hate talking on phones. Especially when I have to do the calling. No idea why.

I wasn't really confident before, but now I'm fine with that :nice:

But you're not a freak Sara !

I have to, like, psych myself up before I ever do a phone call. Like I'll press six of the numbers, turn the phone off, and then concentrate and put it off for a few minutes before I work up the balls to call people. xD

No, you're not a freak, I'm sure plenty of people have that feeling.

Is it when you call certain people? Just with strangers, or also with friends and family?

What is scary about a phone call? I really don't get it.

I think it's worse with people I know, whenever it's a business transaction or whatever I can just tell myself that I am THE CUSTOMER and therefore EMPOWERED TO SPEAK TO THE COMPANY... hahaha

It depends on who I'm calling. But I get where you're coming from.

Ah well I'll keep that in mind next time I call my long list of e-crushes

am the same, especially when I'm calling up a completely stranger, even the operator.

You guys don't even think about the important thing with cellphones. Just think about the provider's database.

Do you have any idea in how that's structured, organized, and managed in order for you cellphone-whores to be talking 8760/365 or 8784/366 in leap years? :dozey:

Heh... I do that all of the time. And then when I finally call, I'm so worked up I can't even think straight and the conversation gets extra awkward because I'm so out to lunch- which only makes me even worse.

Heh... I'm so bad that my family can get really pissed off at me because I don't answer the phone either. Having caller id has helped- I won't let it go to the machine anymore just to screen calls. Answering also got easier after someone seemingly got a cell number very similar to mine. I get wrong number calls all the time and it's fun to answer just to hear all the different ways they react. Some of them are really hilarious.

I think the worst thing for me is just that I have problems reading social ques in general- it's a side effect of ADD. When I have to pick up on what's happening socially without even seeing the person face to face it gets really difficult, which stresses me out. Plus I don't like bugging people/invading their space. I won't ring a person's doorbell until I've triple checked that I have the right house.

The crazy part being that I worked full time in a call centre for nearly a year... you think that would have made it better, but no. I survived and then lost all of it when the job was over.

ADD doesn't exist it's just sleep deprivation

You have it worse than me .-.

:wtf:

It's a brain style. We process info differently. The problem is in a linear society our brains work like a traffic jam.

...Even when I've been sleeping 8 or 9 hours a night for the last 2 months. There's strong evidence I've had it since I was a toddler or before. It's not a sleep issue.

My psych teacher (who is a genius) says he thinks for the most part it's diagnosed as ADD when it's just sleep deprivation. Not saying it doesn't exist, just maybe not as much as people think.
