It's almost Christmas number one time, I for one would like something hilarious/good to be the Christmas #1 ahead of the usual X-Factor bland singing someone elses song piece of shit.

 

So that's why I am jumping on the bandwagon with this thing, it's basically trying to get "Killing in the Name" by Rage Against The Machine as christmas number one.

 

All you have to do is go onto iTunes/play.com/7Digital (on the week commencing 14th December) and download this track, tell other people to download etc.

 

Do it.

Oh did you decide that did you? MC Squared, didn't realise that name had more fucking meaning than it was made out top be, Dr Fox eat your fucking heart out Mark has decided it is "meaningless" but it wasn't in the past. I wonder what life changing drama made that change from most important thing ever to meaningless.

I agree with Squared, who the hell cares anymore?

 

Music is so diverse and varied nowadays that truely memorable 'hits' just dont exist anymore.

The internets mutilation of Television, Radio and core pop cultures in the 21st century. That'd do it.

 

Cowell will continue to soak up the money until charts are dry and meaningless, I can see the importance of touring and gigs overtaking record sales, which is fantastic.

I couldn't agree more.;)

In fact, I would say that's pretty much already happened, seeing as concert tickets and good quality merchandise still have to be purchased, unlike the songs themselves.

You do know the campaign was started by someone who works for Sony, interesting enough that rage against the machine is a Sony artist, and as the X-factor winner will be on a Sony owned label...

Spotty Teenagers downloads RATM song in an ill-faded attempt to get it to number 1, say 10,000 people download it, at 79p a shot it's £7900, so your looking at £4000 going into Sony's pockets

Also thought it was great last year when the winner sang Hallelujah, because Buckley's version was on the radio pretty much just as much. The outraged Buckley fans who thought it was sacrilige were the only ones who put the two different versions into the same bracket, I knew the XFactor version would quickly be forgotten (I havent heard it since).

Alexandra Burke's version (For puposes of my street cred I did have to google that) was played in the daytime on mainstream radio, but Buckleys was on a lot of indie/chillout leftstream stations in the evening and nighttime, I heard it on quite a lot.

I heard that the Rage xmas no.1 facebook page is well over 400,000, the target for sales is about 500k. So, although its a stupid idea and I disagree with it, hats off to those fickle trend chasing spotty kids and their monumentous effort.

 

Of course now all they need to do now is actually go through with what theyre representing and buy the single on that week, which they wont because THEYRE FICKLE TREND CHASING SPOTTY KIDS WHO DONT GO THROUGH WITH ANTYTHING YEAH I SAID IT.
