This is hilarious...  I posted about Julien's Auctions in that post from 2011, and today I am COO of the company.   Blacky is sitting behind me in my office right now.  ? Jason

2009 and the Obama era really feels like a lifetime ago ? I wonder what it would be worth now..

Apparently not, but that would have been nice. Another Viva-era item I would have liked to see was the puppets... oh well.

Good thinking! They TOTALLY would have made a GREAT lot! They might be Lot 42 or 36!

Has anyone else noticed that "Jonny's jacket" was the one that was worn most by Chris?

I can't see the armbands that well, but I think it is Chris' jacket. Or, at least the one he wore quite often.

Each of them had multiple jackets. The one that is labeled as Chris' is actually Will's (hence Will in the picture). The one that should be for sale for Chris is the light blue one he wore at the Grammy's, I think, from the catalog picture. The one that Jonny is holding probably is his, but he might not have worn it as much.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the clarification! :)

there's no lot 42 as everybody know but did you notice there was no 24?

Yip. After seeing the other two missing, I just gave up. It will be interesting to see if they throw something in the mix at the last minute with these lot numbers.

Seriously? Hmm . . .

Did anyone ask The Oracle about the missing lots?

I think someone did ask the Oracle about Lot #42, but the question hasn't been answered . . . yet.

Did anyone ask The Oracle about the missing lots?

Even if someone already did, it would probably be worthwhile to ask. If enough people ask, the Oracle might answer just in an effort to get people to stop asking.

I asked! but no answer yet:(

Then I shall proceed to asking as well!

Update!! .... I asked.

What's the deal here then.

Compare the two pictures (The guitar on its own and then the one with the band).

Firstly in one pic the guitar has the headstock painted and in the other it is not. Then compare the artwork... it's not the same. Look at the writing in particular. Very different.

Has it had a repaint or is it a different guitar?

Thoughts?

It's hard to tell. My guess is that it is same. If you look at the other Gibson Blue Kings for auction (primary, spare 2, and spare 3), the same thing is going on. I think it's an issue with the lighting. In the individual pictures, the colors look very muted. In the group picture, the colors are more vivid.

I think the others are all the same in both pics. It's just this one that I'm dubious about. I mean, you would assume that the 2 pics were taken at roughly the same time. That's why I can't understand why the paint is different. Particularly the plain black Gibson headstock in one vs the purple painted version. Notice how the No Me Llores kinda curves around the soundhole in one pic and not in the other.

Hmm.

I'd say it's a different one. You would notice the purple paint in the group picture, I think. Plus, the neck has a different colour as well... They probably have spares or something.

I stared at it a little more, and I see what you mean now. I also see some other differences, like in the group picture, the the bottom of the LL is longer and closer to the edge and curves with it, while in the individual picture the LL is different. Whether it is a re-paint, or if they have another spare and took pictures of each, hard to tell. You could always send a message to the seller on ebay, it couldn't hurt.

Seriously, this picture makes me laugh everytime I see it. I've seen it a lot now but I just can't help it! :worried2: This is one of the reasons why I love Coldplay, cause their band pictures are always awesome

Email sent. I'll let you know if I get a reply. I imagine they've been inundated with questions. Questions such as 'How can it possibly cost £35 to post a jacket?!!'.

Yeah... and £180 to ship a drum. I suppose they want to make sure it gets to it's destination secure and in one piece.

Since they had two of each guitar on the show, they had one with unpainted headstock and another one with painted headstock. Check out these two.

The problem with the auction is they posted pictures of both versions of the NO ME LLORES guitar with the "face" pattern on the same item page.

Maybe they intended to sell both versions in the beginning and one of them were pulled from the catalog (since both versions of the guitar were photographed), and that might explain the missing LOT 42 :)

CHRIS VERSUS WILL JACKET OPINION UPDATE

I made a few posts earlier in regard to the auction for Chris' jacket showing a picture of Will, and vice versa. Originally, I theorized that they just mixed up the pictures. All of them wore multiple jackets throughout the tour, so trying to figure it out wasn't easy. But, I watched the Violet Hill video again, and I'm pretty sure that the one that is described as Will's jacket, with Chris holding it, is indeed Will's (at least from the Violet Hill video). So, I think I take back what I said earlier. Don't you just love how they enjoy driving us batty? Argh.
