2 of the lithos are already up to £500 and it's only day 2. I'm gonna get repetitive strain injury from constantly F5'ing :shocked2:

God. By the time the auction's over the lithos will be over $2000, I guarantee.

But it's for charity, and if people are willing to pay that much, then good for them. :laugh3:

This is hilarious...  I posted about Julien's Auctions in that post from 2011, and today I am COO of the company.   Blacky is sitting behind me in my office right now.  ? Jason

2009 and the Obama era really feels like a lifetime ago ? I wonder what it would be worth now..

*joins other Coldplayers laughing at the prices*

Seriously, I'll never spend 500 pounds for a big piece of paper! :laugh3:

I bid on something just to bid on it, just barely above what the current bid was, knowing that it will go for much higher anyway. But see, then I get an e-mail confirmation from ebay that I am currently the highest bidder (albeit for a minute or two).

But, the COOL thing is... and maybe I'm just being cheesy here... that I will have "my own little memorabilia" that I can keep forever, in the form of an e-mail, saying that I bid on something really cool. So even if I don't end up winning anything in the end, at least I will have that token that I can keep forever.

Nah, not cheesy, i'm going to try and bid on something when it first comes up.

It's just nice to know that you were a part of something so epic :)

Ugh. I wish I was rich. Lithographs going for $500 American! Gosh!

DAMMIT YOU RICH FOLKS.

Any Coldplayers heartily bidding?

Oh, I wish for nothing more than to get my hands on Chris' superhero outfit when it gets auctioned... :bomb:

Not right now, just a couple of 'test' bids yesterday.

But the 28th, yes. If no success that day, the 29th yes. Ditto for the 30th and 31st. Basically, I would really like to have SOMETHING. You guys will be the first to know if I get anything. ;)

Does anyone know if the yellow litho has gone yet? If it has I can stop this F5-ing session and try again tomorrow for some AROBTTH lithos.

I considered using software to automate the F5 function (in a loop every 5 seconds), but you would still need to be at the computer watching for the BIN; and then as you tried to bid, the F5 function would keep going, unless you went into the software to turn it off!

In other words---the manual F5 seems the only way to possibly win.

Anyone have other ideas?!

It is wonderful and generous of Coldplay to donate so many items, to be auctioned for their charity. Blessings to Coldplay!

looks like they're putting up new stuff every 3 minutes

Edit: My morning so far -

picture1skh.png

I bid on an AROBTTH and IMP litho - soooo exciting!

And Guy's AROBTTH poster

Only 2 BINs so far!

currently bidding on the globe - £2500 so far! :o

Given that this is the album cover's globe --- it may fetch the most!

Ok, so my goal today was to try and get as many first bids as possible with 1 pound!! Figured, might as well have some fun without contributing to driving the price up and figure out some stuff along the way.

I found out some interesting things:

1) It IS possible to be the first bidder multiple times bidding only the minimum bid of 1 pound!! I was able to be the first bidder on:

4 AROBTTH Lithos

2 IMP Lithos

I was also the first bidder on Will's AROBTTH frame, but I bid 10 pounds on that since I really want it and was worried 1 pound would not get the first bid!

2) Some bastard is definately rising the bidding prices since I noticed today it only took 4 or 5 bids to get to the same price as the Shiver Lithos yesterday with 20 or so bids  I also noticed that some I missed on being the first bidder for 1 pound, the first bid was say 100 pounds! They are also newly registered (no feedback) and have bidded on mulitple items with a first bid of 100 pounds or more... I checked their bid history, and they have ONLY bid on items in this auction! It says:

"Bid activity (%) with this seller: 100%". :stunned: So there's definately a conspiracy here!

3) Clear your cache! Basically, a new item is posted every 2 or 3 minutes. That gives you time to clear your cache. But since it erases your login, you have to re-login. This REALLY helps since your computer is faster at getting the item and it obviously worked today in my little experiment!

Oh well, in the unlikely case any of these items are within my budget, at least being the first bidder gives you a tiny legs up in the final battle!

No sign of another BIN though...

(Q:) How does one clear the cache? (Is this the browser history?) Your help is appreciated!

It depends on your browser. I have Firefox, and there's a setting where it automatically clears your cache when you close all browsers. This is the fastest and easiest way to do it. Then you just open a new browser, re-login to Ebay and voila!

Top bids so far:

(1) Chris Martin's first guitar

(2) The globe

I can't even believe the lithograph prices right now. You can buy the same ones for 100 USD for the albums and 75 USD for the singles in their store. So basically the band members autographs are worth over 400 dollars? and probably much more considering how much time is left on the auction

Yeah I know

I think it's investors driving the prices up to be honest. There is no reason for them to be so high so early... Rich people suck...:veryangry2:

Some of the other items, which are actually nicer, are the same price or less!

Indeed --- may as well bid on the one-of-a-kind guitars and audio equipment instead!

Ooh, this is interesting, didn't notice it before:

5. All items will be available for collection from Waterloo, London. Otherwise, items will be shipped using Royal Mail Special Delivery. The buyer will cover the full cost of this shipping. Insurance will be available, for an extra cost.

I guess now we know the pickup location for the pianos! That's also a good way to save on shipping, ha. I'd have to get my sister to drive to London for me! :P

You'd expect them to know how to use eBay though. Bidding at this time makes no sense at all. I think there are just an awful lot of people wanting something. It's kind of funny though: the lithographs go from 1 to 150 in a matter of minutes. People just don't know how to bid. :dozey:
