Aww thanks, I'm really glad to hear that! :)

It's also nice to hear you didn't know most the artists/bands and got interested in at least some of them because I guess that's just what a mixtape is there for. :nice: I do believe the one by Biffy Clyro was your favourite, wasn't it? :) If you go and check them out, have a listen to their latest record as there are quite some gems on it (I prefer it to its predecessor anyway). :)

Yes, thanks! I'll check them out, and a few others. :nice:

I'll let you know if you want:)

Sure.

Just cracked open my mixtape.

Track 1 and track 2 nice acoustic tunes. Cover of Sean kingston - Beautiful Girls and a bit of Stand by me.

track 3 its back to the 70's!

Track 4, upbeat song....must try to get more from these guys....has the lyrics "look at the stars look how they shine for you"........

Track 5, My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade. Not my favourite band but i like that track.

Track 6, Nice funky tune, again not my kinda music sort of like Newton Faulkner meets Jamiroquai!

Track 7, R&B......next (sorry!)

Track 8, Jamiroquai! HAHA seriously i'm writing this as i listen (reference Track 6) Like this one. Play it when DJing, goes down well.

Track 9, did nothing for me.

Track 10, yeah guitars!! Sounds like the band that did that Arse Face song.........i forget their name.

Track 11, Fall Out Boy - Beat It. OK Cover.

Track 12, back to acoustic, nice track. Sounds like it should be played on electric guitars set to 11!

Track 13, Viva la Vida cover, not sure who by but its good. Heard it on the radio a while back.

Track 14, Nice bit of funky house. Like it!

Track 15, More funky electro. Can never remember who made this! Another like!

Track 16, Chasing Pavements. OK tune.

Track 17, Teen angst rock! Harmless and tuneful.

Track 18, AH Rahmann Jai Ho. Not my cuppa tea/

Track 19, Chilled semi psychedelic closer!

Overall a great mixtape, a few tracks which i had not heard, a lot i had (working as a DJ this was likely!). Loads of different styles.

Enjoyed it

Thanks.

I'm from Tromsø so they're heroes here :laugh3:

They're talented heroes  Plus I know now the place they are from ;)

Oh thank you for cheering me up Violet, everyone sounds so impressive but well... that's just a game after all :D

I have the same feeling! Plus like someone said a few pages back (sorry I don't recall the name!), I'm not writting in my mother tongue :worried: But I'll try my best so I'll be comprehensible ;)

I have listen to my mixtape but I want to listen to it one, two more time(s) before I post my review ;)

Okay, here's my review. I thought I should listen to the mixtape at least two times before posting it but I'm not sure when will I have time, so I'm posting it now, AND I'll probably post a new one or add a few thoughts later.

I was typing this while listening...

1

Good opening track. The beginning is quite beautiful. The lyrics don't appear to be in English.

2

This one is sort of average. I'm not sure I like the vocals.

3

Has sort of a Sigur Rós feel. It gets better and better towards the end. I quite like it!

4

I don't like this one. It sounds slow, dark and I don't like the vocals.

5

(This one is called 4, btw :P)

Becomes more interesting after a minute and 20 seconds or so. It sounds different than the stuff I usually listen to. I like the feel of it. Not bad, I want to know who's it by!

6

Nice, semi-relaxing. This voice sounds familiar.

7

This song's chill. It sounds a bit like an older song.

8

This sounds like an older song too. Country-ish... haha. Not really my cup of tea. Bored me a bit.

9

Finally, a more energetic song. I expect a kick-in... oh, here it is. Nice song. Reminds me of Depeche Mode. Now it's slower again. Now faster. Haha. I'm quite interested to find out which song is this.

10

This one's okay.

11

Oooh. The beginning sounds familiar. Oh wait, this is Animal Collective! I like this song, thanks for putting it. I generally like the far-away fresh sound of what I've heard so far from Animal Collective. I like the beat in this song.

12

I have a pretty good idea what song is this, based only on what other people have said about it, even though I've never listened to it earlier... haha. The Killers - Romeo and Juliet, right? It's a good song. I've listened to some stuff by The Killers but never really got into it. I might try again.

13

Metric - Help I'm Alive. This is either a weird version or a good cover. I like it though. Thanks, mixtape maker, for putting this in the mixtape.

14

Upbeat! Not quite fond of the vocals, but I don't mind the song.

15

Again a familiar voice. I'll have to listen to this song a few more times.

16

I heard "...comforting sounds..." at the beginning and I knew there's a song by Mew with that title, so I googled the lyrics, and they match... I've been discovering Mew lately, I guess this is a coincidence... thanks, my mixtape maker, for helping me. Oh, the song's became louder now, I like that. I have to say that the title is very accurate! It's almost ending now. I like how it builds up.

17

Eh... wat. (That was honestly my reaction when it started.) It's sort of repetitive during the first half, gets better later.

18

Oooh different. Has a sort of romantic feel to it. The vocals are nice. I'd call this song beautiful, but I'd have to listen to it some more.

19

Not bad. Dunno what else to say. I'm not sure I like it.

20

(And this one's called 21... is 20 missing, then?)

LOL

This is one of my favourite Coldplay songs, actually. I haven't heard this version before. It's not as sweet as the original, but let's see how it builds up. This song has some beautiful lyrics, cheesy but nice. Oh wait... are these lyrics a bit different? My fav part is the same, that's good, but it doesn't have quite the epicness of the original song.

Overall:

I generally like the mixtape. I'm definitely going to listen to it again. I'm glad there are a few songs I'm familiar with on it. There were a few tracks I didn't like and the mixtape was a bit too long. I'm looking forward to the tracklist because I really like a few tracks.

Thanks for making this!

I received a broken link to my partner's mixtape...pity.

Alright, here's my review:

01. The beginning sounds pretty odd with all the talking and the rather unfamiliar instrumental arrangement, but it only took me about half a minute to actually get used to it and then I started to really like it. Also because of the singer's fairly nice voice. The female voice pretty much ambushed me as I'm not really a fan of female voices, but I have to say that I really like the parts where they sing together. I also like the strings at the end. All in all, I think it’s a nice song to start with, it kind of fits to a start. :)

02. The electric guitar is kind of penetrant, I must say. The strings sound nice, though. Still, I think neither the singer's voice nor the lyrics are that special. The chorus is quite neat, but apart from that the song's rather boring.

03. The guitar at the beginning sounds good, that's just what I like in songs. In fact I think the instrumental arrangement is nice! The piano actually sounds a little bit “baroque”, I don’t know.

04. The start also sounds like it's a song I might like, with the guitar and all that. The raspy voice has something special on it as well. The lyrics seem to be rather simple and the “I’m sorry, so sorry, I’m sorry…” kind of gets on your nerves after a while...

05. I don’t really like the “Oh baby, baby, baby…”, but the song’s kind of happy and up-lifting. Sometime in the middle I hear a violin! Pretty. I do also like the voice as well as the "groove". :)

06. This song's beginning is just VERY weird. All in all, it's way too electronical for my taste. I'm just not too much into that style of music, but the chorus’s nice. The song also sounded like something I listened to a few weeks ago… Maybe Delphic? I just wish it was more acoustic… But: After having listened to it for the third time, I have to admit it’s quite catchy. ;) I just caught myself tapping with my feet during the chorus.

07. The first 20 seconds sound so 80ies, but obviously it isn't a song from the 80ies and I'm afraid it isn't my cup of tea AT ALL. :\ I'm a sucker for great lyrics and those lyrics don’t really seem to have much content or make some kind of sense. And to be honest, the third time I listened to it, I actually felt the urge to skip the song, sorry. :\

08. This song didn’t really stand out. After about 2.30 you’d actually think the song’s over, but then it starts again…It neither hooked me nor was it that bad. Just not special. And the instruments seem somehow pushy, I don't know.

09. Aaah, I recognized that one almost immediately! EDITORS, I really like them! And of course, I guess Tom Smith's amazing voice totally stands out anyway. :cheesy: If only the chorus wasn't AS obtrusive...

10. Now, this song's really SO 80ies all the way through! The singer's somehow got a kind of strange way of singing voice, but then it sounds kind of interesting, too. The lyrics aren’t too special and it isn'treally the kind of song I’d listen to. ;)

11. The song's beat seems rather "unusual", but the actual melody's quite cute. I do also like the piano in the background a lot, too. Yeah, I know, I'm such a sucker for nice piano arrangements. And added strings are just the cream of the crop. Again, it sounds a little bit "baroque", but I like it.

12. That one sounded very familiar indeed. "Boxing Champ" by the Kaiser Chiefs. I must say that this really isn't my favourite track by them simply because I don't like the vocals too much, but it's a kind of "fun"-song. Oh dear, I think I haven't listened to them for quite a while... Should definitely do it again sometime soon.

13. The last song already. The guitar and the voice sound good. It's just the type of song I like: A nice voice, clear lyrics and a discreet guitar. Still, I have to say that it already starts to get boring after the third listen… But it's a nice little song nonetheless and also a fitting end of the mixtape. ;)

All in all, it was a quite short mixtape with only about 45 minutes, but pretty much to the point. Actually, it only really started to grow on me the third time I listened to it, but I've definitely found some band/artists I'll keep an eye on from now on. Can't wait to see the tracklist. :)

Also, some of the album artwork was still there, but I just tried to ignore it. And it didn’t really spoil me, either, so don’t worry. ;)

I did notice that the “song titles” you chose were the lyrics of one of the songs (actually from the one I really didn't like ). Kind of funny idea, though, I liked that. :D

So, I'm really looking forward to finding out who made my mixtape. Thank you, dear mixtape creator, you did a nice job! :nice: And especially thanks for not putting any female singers on it (apart from the second singer in the first song) as I usually have a hard time growing fond of female voices and there are only very few I really like. So, choosing only male singers was definitely the safe side. :D

Last but not least, The Escapist, thanks a lot for the amazing job you did and the great effort you put into this project. :)

I'm gonna find out about Delakota tho, sounds interesting, I'd like to hear more. And I'm sure I have a Furries album knocking around somewhere that I've barely listened to, perhaps I should dig it out :D

Thanks :)

Right I've just bought the Furries album Dark Days/Light Year on d/load. Will give it a listen later. And I've bought the Delakota album on cd (for a quid!), so that'll take a few days to get here.

Thanks for including these on the mix Fixed

edit: Couldn't resist listening to Lliwiau Llachar straight away - I love Welsh language songs - dwi'n hoffi iawn ;)

Track 1: catchy, like the music a lot, especially towards the end, but not so much the vocals.

Track 2: too ethereal, not interesting enough for my tastes.

Track 3: voice is familiar, might just be the accent though. What is up with the echoes though? Too 80’s for me. Glasvegas-like. This would’ve been better had it been faster.

Track 4: this one’s good! I have a feeling this might be Living Things, I saw them back in ’06 at a festival. I really dig the chorus, quite shoutalongable, and the synths are a welcome addition.

Track 5: voice sounds like AFI, I don’t know the song though. It’s okay, but I’m not smitten or anything.

Track 6: Just another up tempo indie rocker. I don’t have much of an opinion on this.

Track 7: Good voice, nicely dramatic intro.

Track 8: this is Modest Mouse, but I haven’t heard anything newer by them. I quite like the trumpets and strings as an extra to the song. This cheers me up!

Track 9: about half a year after I heard their album Dutch radio stations decided this should be a gigantic hit: Chelsea Dagger by the Fratellis. Dudududu, doodoodoo, etcetera. Reminds me of standing at Pinkpop Festival and shouting along with a beer in my hand. Not much depth to the music but good lyrics and a killer bar brawl melody.

Track 10: isn’t this the song with those weird half-naked dudes? Iglu & Hartly or something? Again, singable, I fancy this as long as I don’t have to see the dudes and ignore the lyrics. I wonder if they’ve ever made any other music. You know, where they’re not half naked. And where someone has told the singer not to sing through his nose so much. In THIS CITYYYY.

Track 11: Mika? Yes. Mika. Happy, but after a while his tone can get somewhat annoying.

Track 12: this would have been bordering on whiny even without the auto-tuned, high-pitched overdubbed vocals. This is just not my thing. Sappy, badly rhyming lyrics, slow, boring piano tune. Must be James Blunt or that dude who did a song with Nelly Furtado. I don’t know, this just isn’t it, sorry!

Track 13: Now this I like, original melody, Bright Eyes-esque lyrics, a pleasant guitar sound and the little piano riff in between tickles my fancy! I could listen to this over and over again.

Track 14: Woo for the little 8-bit intro! The rest of the song is pleasant enough, a little emo/pop standard though.

Track 15: I have a feeling I know this band or at least their garage rock-ish sound. There’s a little Libertines in the guitars which I quite dig.

Track 16: 35 seconds of oh ey oh oh? Honestly. But the semi-spoken word vocals are rather nice and the lyrics are interesting enough.

Track 17: I knew this one in 5 seconds flat, Franz Ferdinand’s Ulysses. Excellent choice, definitely my favorite off the album!

Track 18: I love the guitar intro and the drum work. This would be the better side of emo! I’m very curious which band this is.

Track 19: I can’t believe whoever made this tape knows ZOX! They are a brilliant violin-laced ska/pop punk band from the U.S. I used be really into these guys, sadly they’ve only ever had one gig in my country. At which was the only one to sing along to every song! I love this song.

@ whoever made this: There are a couple of gems in there, one or two songs I just plain dislike but most of it just misses the target of my music taste. If I am a bit harsh in some places, it’s just how I feel about the music! It's definitely nothing against you personally or your taste, the tape was definitely well-made and the music fitted together. Thanks for introducing me to some new stuff!

REVIEW

Track 1: Loud, energetic intro that remids a little of a rock/pop -ier version of The Hardest Part's intro. The singer reminds a little of Morrisey (The Smiths) at times but the track feels like it could be by U2 (which it is not) or Snow Patrol. As an intro to the mix it is not what I preffer, it goes right on instead of opening easy and then moving upwards. I preffer an intro that builds up and gives you a good idea what your in for such as Life In Technicolor, Loog, Station Approach and Uprising.

It does, however, have a good length but should have been diffrent instrumentaly.

I'm gonne guess it's titles Try Me.

Track 2: Wonderful intro, the piano and guitar really mash well and you can tell your in for a treat. The song's a duet between a moderately deep voiced guy and a higher voiced female. The vocal performance is very good, and, Man, that piano really lifts the track. Great intrumentation, perfectly placed track, and it makes up for the intro.

Track 3: Another duet, again a dude and a dudet (is that Kate Bush?). Quiet intro, again piano and guitar, mainly the first mentioned, then the chorus comes in with more intruments (reminds a little of Fugitive Motel this way). This is the highlight of the song, and it includes the defining lyric "I'm miles from where you are, I lay down on the cold ground. I pray that something picks me up and sets we down in your warm arms". So, lyrically it reminds a bit of Regina Spektor.

The mixtape seems to be improving more and more for every track.

Track 4: You can tell from the intro (first electric piano/Vibraphone, then strings, with the regular gang, drums, piano and probably guitar, backing up) this is a great song. And it is. The singer is a guy, soft voice, not really great but it fits. Repeatative lyrically but that's part of the track. It's deffinarty about living with past mistakes haunting you, but still moving on.

It has the best chorus yet, wonderful percussion and strings. Eventually there are trumpets that create variation.

The summery and colorful sounds get an A and makes this the best song yet.

My guess at the title is All Things Go.

Track 5: Intro makes it sound like a meh song, especially when joined by the Fifa 07 theme song guitar effects. Then comes a Muse like piano lead bridge, changing that thought. Again, the piano saves the day.The singers voice reminds a bit of Madrugada's Sivert Høyem, but he groans a bit, Sivert does not. Not as good as the preceeding track but still up there with ones so far.

Track 6: Sounds European judging by the instrumentation and singer. This intro is followed by a kick that reminds of Peter Gabriel and a Spanish bridge. Then trumpets, then back to the Spanish bridge. Odd.

Did not enjoy this as much (Eurovision Songcontest entry?), too long. If not Spanish the musician(s) is/are deffinatly Southern Euorpean. I will admit, it has grown on me since first time around.

Track 7: Colorful again, some kind of organ, with good drumming and a piano like the tack piano featured in Lovers In Japan. This is all accompanied by your typical pop/rock chorus, don't care for it as much, but it is followed by a good acoustic guitar bit. Good singer, American with the range of Chris Martin.

Track 8: Repeating guitar picking in the background changes underway in favor of breif strumming. Chorus is pretty good, electric guitar and choir go well. A little epic I'd say :D. Not too good drumming but not too bad.

Then the song just dissappears :wtf:

Track 9: Electric guitar intro goes to mellow in a few seconds. I can recognize the voice, sounds a little reggae-ish (the voice that is). Then, bam, the chorus, completley diffrent from the verse, thumping. And so it varries from mellow verses with dancing a dancing bass to a pounding chorus, which isn't too good in itself, not that it's bad.

This could be the most stupid thing I've ever said but it sounds like Reggae meets Dinosaur Jr.

Track 10: Already don't care for the lyrics, another groaning singer. Passive drumming (not nesc. a bad thing) backed up by an organ and guitars being played string by string.

Ok guitar solo that had it's moments but sounds like too many of it's kind.

Track 11: A little like Track 9, though I can't tell if it's 90's or earlier. The synth says it's from that time period, but I really haven't been able to tell any years throughout the tape. It's anyway joined by an electric piano or something. The intro backs up during a lot of the song and is a nice touch. Solo/variation was the highlight and it has a memorable chorus, something you'd hear on the dance floor. Leaves the way it came, with that intro. Very uncertain about the time period, but'd have to say 90's.

Track 12: Rough intro reminds of Glasvegas. Then comes "Leaves are falling down on the beautiful ground" :wtf: Synths can be heard in the background again. I like the guitar during the bridge, very Glasvegas-y, though it's undoubtedly earlier. My notes say "Not too good" but this time around I quite enjoy it. "This river is wild" the repeating lyric. Completley unexpected outro, piano and remenissing is what it feels like to me.

Track 13: Another American male singer, who, sadly can't pronounce the word "stupid" this being the most annoying part of the track. Very American, and I haven't enjoyed it any of the listens. Chorus reminds of Madrugada, especially The Deep End album, and makes it interesting. Then he says "stoopid" again and I get annoyed :P

Track 14: Ah, finally!! This is why I'm called The Final Track, and the song is Bach originally I beleive but has a string section that makes it a great rock track. I think it's one of Muse' Exogenesis Symphonies without the high vocals of Matt Bellamy., so it's instrumental.

Anyhow, it is a great outro, and kudos to my partner for this addition!

Overall I enjoyed the mix quite a lot, especially the first 5 tracks. I'll be honest and say there was a little too much of the same, it wasn't really a mix of variation. It really missed an acoustic track or even a half acoustic, somewhere in the second half.

The tracks melted into each other very well, never was that an issue and I didn't realize how important that was until it was over. Also, the length was perfect, a little over an hour.

Thank you :)

Track numbers 2, 3, 4, 5 and 14 are must hears

I can tell my partner has done this before, and it was a very good mixtape. I recommend it highly, particualry the underlined tracks.

They're talented heroes  Plus I know now the place they are from ;)

:awesome: alas, they moved to Bergen :(

You and I, my dear mysterious mixtaper, have extremely similar taste in music. I pretty much, with few exceptions, loved my tape.

Unless otherwise stated I loved the song.

Here we go...

1. I don't who this is but I desperately want to. Seriously, besides the songs I already knew from this tape this is definitely my favorite. The driving beat really kept me hooked despite it being a little long and overly drawn out. So many instruments too, how many people are playing in this song! Roam/Rome repeating throughout has been stuck in my head all day. Speaking of, love the lyrics especially "could he be waving from a tropical sunset" near the beginning. Really great.

2. Calming down a bit from the first song? His voice is similar to the first songs, but I don't think its the same person. I feel like I've heard this song in either a commercial or tv show before. Very dreamlike. Slightly muddled lyrics, and very lethargic instrumentation. I liked it.

3. No one says you can't get stoned John Mayer. Well at least I don't because I love your music. I absolutely loved his last album, Battlefields, probably more than his previous ones. Thanks for including this, despite it being played all over I don't think I'll ever get tired of it.

4. And IIIIII will diiiiiiieeeee. Honestly, the first time I heard this one I kind of wanted to kill the singer. And I've definitely heard this one before, I think my brother is a fan. You really like longer songs don't you? The scream singing about wooden nails really didn't do anything for me. But then it paused and came back a few seconds later with nice and calm instrumentation for the last minute, which I really enjoyed. And redeemed the song enough for me to appreciate the guitar work throughout the rest of the song.

5. These bands all have very similar vocalists. Besides JM of course. Anyway, I really liked the piano counter-melody in the background of this at the beginning and nearing the end and the drumming was pretty amazing throughout. I've definitely heard the part where he gets all high pitched before, but Ive no idea where. Despite it being nearly seven minutes in length, it really didn't ever drag and I find myself going back to it. Its a definite keeper.

6. Skinny Love by Bon Iver = My my my, my my my, my my. I'm actually using this song and Blindsided for my lyrical dance songs for school. Whats funny is I really don't know many other songs by Bon Iver. Any recommendation on where to go next?

7. What is that instrument? Its like nature noises. Very interesting. A little busy sounding, but somehow it works. Stick up for yourself, son. The message didn't really seem to fit with the really cool sounding pseudo-Jamaican beats. And its somehow synth-y at the same time. Ah well, Im enjoying the head nodding, rocking back and forth feeling this song emits.

8. Kinda bland. I mean, the background music is very toned down and the lyrics seem to be the main player here, but I'm not sure if this singer can pull that off. Its very soothing in its own way, especially at the chorus. I feel like I need to listen to the lyrics a few more times to see if theres a story here that Im missing. Or some sort of key theme, but right now I've got nothing more than soothing nap time music. Not necessarily bad but not necessarily great either.

9. Fleet Foxes  Honestly, I had to go through my collection of songs to see which one it is, as I don't often listen to their EP even though Textbook Love is always stuck in my head. With that guitar part being as awesome as it is I really should go back shouldn't I? I looove their harmonies. Thanks for reminding me how good they are. So Long to the Headstrong.

10. RAH RAH AH AH AH ROMA ROMAMA GA GA OOH LA LA

Is it possible to not dance during this song? Whats funny is that I stopped the tape in the middle of the last song and drove my sister to her friends house with the both of us dancing and singing like fools to this song on the radio. love love love.

11. Duuuuuust in the wind. I have no idea who sings this but I most definitely know and have heard this song soooo many times. Its a classic isn't it? Great choice, I've always loved the violin in the middle. Really fits with the rest of your selections.

12. White Sky by Vampire Weekend :D Despite my earlier complaints about Contra

this song may be one of my favorites by them. This and Giving Up The Gun. and Horchata. And everything else. Seriously I don't know what I was complaining about before. Love this band.

13. This song definitely fits perfectly after the last one. I kinda love it. This woman's voice fits perfectly with the song and style...it is a girl right? There really isn't much to say about this one other than that I definitely didn't expect it, have no idea who it is but I like it anyway. Its happy, has an old style to it, but sounds new. Once again I love the strings.

14. And we have a language change up ladies and gentlemen. Verrrrrry pretty. Soft. I like his voice. Are those horns?...Strange choice, yet fitting. I like it...despite having no idea what he is singing about.

15. And we end with a short, sweet Beatles note. Her Majesty, in fact. Made me laugh after all of those severely long songs. Kind of bridged the gap between the different genres represented throughout the mix. Nice way to end the tape.

I recommend definitely listening to 1, 5, 6, 9, 12, 13, and 14.

Thanks again! :D

11. Duuuuuust in the wind. I have no idea who sings this but I most definitely know and have heard this song soooo many times. Its a classic isn't it? Great choice, I've always loved the violin in the middle. Really fits with the rest of your selections.

Kansas does it!

Sorry about that. Ive already given out both of my spare tapes so unless you want to do someone who has already posted theirs, there isn't much i can do.

Meh...I'm more interested in my tape being reviewed. But I'm cool with just downloading other people's mixes,

and I'll put my upload link here for anyone who wants to take a look at it/review it. :)

Track 1: Nice melody, I like it

The voices are good

The lyrics are interesting

Track 2: It starts with just instruments and then the beat kicks in

It's mellow, good song

Track 3: I love this song! :D

I was looking for this song for awhile now.

The guy's voice is nice and the lyrics are great

The melody is slow and fast

Track 4: It's starts very fast

The beat is cool, but the guy's voice sounds old fashioned

The lyrics are okay

Track 5: I already know this song, It's a great song though

The lyrics are very clever and I like the girl's voice

I really like the melody, it has a cool mellow vibe

Track 6: It starts of with a nice piano and then the voice and drums kick in fast

The guy's voice is weird and kind of hard to understand

Track 7: Interesting song, the guy's voice is pretty low

I like the melody, it's slow but not too slow

It's hard to figure out the lyrics sometimes

Track 8: The singing starts really fast on this song

It's another mellow song, the guy's voice is good

I like it, it's a good song :)

Track 9: It starts off with a twinkle sound and then the drum and guitar kicks in

Another guy singing lol, the lyrics are interesting

Track 10: It's upbeat, with a loud guitar riff and drumes

some of it is slow, not much singing (which is hard to understand sometimes)

Track 11: Can't go wrong with this song, it's a classic

It's my favourite song by The Killers, it's really catchy and awesome

Track 12: It starts off with a cool guitar riff, then the singing kicks in

The guy's voice reminds me of Elvis Costello

I really like the end of it, it's awesome

Track 13: doesn't work :/

Track 14: it's protected, so I can't listen to it

Track 15: I just started liking this band :)

This song starts off slow, then it kicks in

It's mellow in a good way with strings and nice melody

Track 16: It has a good intro with some crazy drums

Melody is all over the place and the singing is weird

the end is pretty cool

Track 17: very weird song, instrumental

some of it sounds like rain

Track 18: well, it's better than the last song

nice melody, not sure about the lyrics

I like the end part the best

Summary: I liked most of the songs, it could have been better though

it's just so obviously funny, the image it conveys

I knew after the first few bars, just from the voice, that it was O.A.R. And yes, the track is absolutely called "Try Me." Never heard this song but I know the voice very well. Good band...no, great band!

Well I didn't want a "soft" intro that's why I picked "Try Me" (so yeah your guess was right about the title). "High Horses" is definitely one of my most favorite songs ever, I am so glad you like it. Then I added the 3rd song on saturday (which is when I heard it for the first time) to this tape, looks like I made a good choice.

“Chicago” is a really nice song, I know the intro is a little odd but it still is good. You were right about number 7, he does sound a lot like Chris. the ending of “Special” always leaves me like :wtf: too :P. About track 9… I am in love with Calleb’s voice, haven’t really crossed my mind that he could be a reggae singer though :P. That comment about Rob Thomas' pronunciation made me

And finally Muse's song had to be there just because :P

Glad you like most of the songs and thanks for the nice review! :D
