What the fuck is wrong with people?

sorry if this is a stupid question, but what exactly is Broken Britain?

I haven't really heard about it

Mark and his favourite hate/fear inspiring newspaper the Daily Mail, love to talk about how Britain has gone to hell etc. It's pathetic really.

Gitta I wouldn't care if it was a few people, but it really is the majority. What is it that makes them like that? I don't get it.

The term "Broken Britain is probably why a lot of people don't acknowledge eachother, they're too afraid of getting happy slapped and then stabbed, and then deported.

Or conned, mugged, or beaten up by gangs of yobs or drunken louts.

Well it is pretty unique to Britain, and it is all part and parcel of the social breakdown that has occurred in recent years. You can deny it all you like, but it's true.:dozey:

You do know you're actually backing up his point, right?

I've been wondering about these kinds of situations as well. What goes through peoples minds when they decide to be impolite? Some peoples lack of basic moral makes me angry.

For instance, yesterday when I was at a music thing with a lot of people around me I offered a guy a spot in front me since he was a little shorter but he stared at me like if I was dumb and just started talk to his friend again. He could've at least say 'no thank you'.

I'm a mother of a seven year old, very hyper- active, quite smart and half tibetan kid. And as I'm currently living in a south- western german little town ( 30 000 people) full of of shit people, and having lived and worked in London, New York City and a small, yet strangely cosmopolitic town in northern India ( Mc Leod Ganj, home to the Dalai Lama), and having travelled through Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Russia, Japan, China and big parts of the USA ( both west coast and the south ( contrasty), also many countries of Europe:

PARENTS ARE SHIT. They don't teach their children to actively take over responsibility for their world. That's where it starts, that's where it ends. People are narrow- minded, square ( hi Marc :tormented smile: ), boring, coward shit. And they teach their children to be the same.

That's why people act shit. I've seen quite a bit of this planet, I'm in utter awe how very beautiful it is, I'm in very awe how much potential there is in human beings, but sadly, most of them just don't get it.

For all of our own's sake kids, get active. Go fucking demonstrate, don't swallow that crazy, fucking indifferent, boring, coward, passive goddam shit any longer. Ugh, now bury me in your annoying badass, internet coolness. Are you any better? Do you have a vision you wanna fight for?

Ugh, crap.

Maybe he had "height" issues and thought you were being patronising.:dozey:

Y'see I was joking.

I can't believe that you think this only happens in Britain because you happened to have visited countries where it doesn't.

I don't mean to apply attitudes to entire nations a la Mark, but I gather from talking to my Swedish friend that this kind of thing isn't uncommon at all in Sweden. I mean obviously there are underlying issues that have to do with your upbringing and that could technically differ from nation to nation. For example time I've spent in America (outside of the major cities like New York, where I imagine they just ignore each other like it's perfectly natural) I noticed that they almost go too far in being polite, to the point where you can tell it's fake and it's just to make you think better of them. That's a slightly different thing to what I was talking about but I still think it's valid.

You definitely have major issues.:stunned:

SOMEBODY MAKE THIS IRRELEVANT PRICK STOP POSTING.

You are 40-something and made crazy pictures in front of a house of random people who got to be famous by just writing nice songs. You are so shit. :bigcry:

I'd have to agree that it's the parents. If the parents don't show the kids how to act, or make them think that acting a certain way is fine then they'll do it. For example I use to have a friend who would take advantage of people, live in their houses at times, and not do much... and I guess I blame his parents because they didn't show him right or wrong, and did a shitty job raising and being responsibile w/ him.

I never said only, just that from personal experience it seems to be far more prevalent there. People all rushing around and not having time for anyone else because they're all on a treadmill. That's how it comes across, unfortunately.:dozey:

That just goes to show how incredibly rude YOU are. Totally disgraceful and uncalled for, and nothing to do with the discussion whatsoever.:smug:

Yet further proof that there are certain people who are incapable of discussing a topic without being personally insulting.

That just goes to show how incredibly rude YOU are. Disgraceful.:smug:

You are just too stupid to be true, if that's all what you take out of my post.

Egocentric little fuck that you simply are.

Mark, none of your posts in this thread are even vaguely relelvant to what I was talking about, you've come in spouted some Daily Mail nonesense about how much you hate Britian and then attacked people personally, the title of this thread can easily apply itself to you. Now could you please fuck off? Guatama and William have pretty much proved your points to be irrelevant and incorrect so can you go back to reading the Daily Mail website and wanking over some hate crimes?

Yet again, the only person being rude is you. That is hypocritical in the extreme.;)

Completely wrong. I gave my views on the issue (whether you agree with them or not) and you immediately attacked me because of them. The problem has all stemmed from you as usual.

I have correctly pointed out that you have been rude (even in this thread), and you are still being so now.

I never said I "hated" Britain. You should check your facts before spouting off.;)

Nothing has been "proved" either way. That's total bullsh*t as usual, and a classic example of why I can't take anything you say remotely seriously.:dozey:

I'm sitting here at work (I'm a security guard so I am at the exit to the building), as people leave I smile at them and if they say goodnight, I'll wish them the same thing. But the vast majority of people when I smile at them, rather than sharing a few seconds of pleasantness with another person choose to stare at me for a few seconds like I am a piece of shit, while walking out of the building and completely forget I was even there as they walk through the door. This genuinely annoys me so much, I could easily sit there with a face like an arse ignoring them as they walk out, but no I actually try to be nice to people and they don't even give a shit. I dunno if it's me that has an old style mentality or what but I get actual joy from people being polite (not because they feel like they have to but because they want to) to each each other, does that just not happen for most people, if we can't even connect with each other on such a basic level then what the fuck is the point?

I'm not saying you should go round saying hi to everyone, that would make you a lunatic...but it's little bits of niceness and tiny acts of selflessness that make me smile. Am I really in a minority here? Are most people really as self obsessed as they seem to be?

I must say that for the majority of people who are like this there are still a handful of genuinely nice people who are friendly etc, but they really do get lost in a sea of shit, it's lucky those people exist or I'd just lose faith in humanity completely.

I don't even know why I made this a thread, I just need to get it off my chest before I snap and punch the next person in the face who walks past.

I can sympathize with you, another thing I hate is when you hold a door for someone and they don't say thank you or even acknowledge that you have done it, simple politeness and manners go a long way.

This happens all over the world

That's the point - I don't believe it does, generally.

You said that you don't believe it happens all over the world, meaning its somehow exclusive to Britain. Instead of us waffling over this until you eventually come to your "That's just my opinion stance" just admit that it was irrelevant to bring up 'Broken Britain'.

I won't, because I believe it was, whether you like it or not.;)

Ha!

You still started it all with your first (unnecessary) response to what I said, though. So my point stands.;)
