That's really cool! And good for you! :awesome: But just curious, did it hurt at all?

*high fives*

w00t!

Woop how cool is that!

I'm really considering getting eye surgery when I'm older because my vision is getting really bad and I'm only 18. But isn't it a 30% chance your vision might get worse...?

People think lasers are like ones in James Bond movies.

Well it is a highly dangerous and painful procedure. They cut open part of your eye and use the laser to rearrange the lenses. And it's basically experimental, no one really knows any long-term effects.

I'll stick with my contact lenses.

PEWPEWPEW.

:awesome: good for you. :P

why Turkey though?

The surgery didnt hurt at all because they give you anaesthetic eye drops but afterwards my eyes itched and burned and teared up for about five hours, but that was normal. I went to bed pretty early and the next day when I woke up my eyes felt a bit swollen but other than that I felt fine.

Hmm I guess that depends on which kind of surgery you need but the one I got, Intralase Lasik, had very low risks of complications and where I went they made sure everyone knew what the worse thing that could happen was but at the same time they made very clear that there was a very low risk of any complications. I think the best thing to do if you consider getting eye surgery is to get in contact with a clinic and ask questions directly instead of listening to rumours. I think that since your vision keeps getting worse you need to wait with having a surgery anyway because your vision needs to be the same for two years or something like that, I dont remember right now

:nice:

The surgery is cheaper in Turkey and also they have been preforming this kind of surgery for a longer period over there than they have here in Sweden. So cheaper doesnt mean they dont have the skills :nice: One of my mum's friends from work went to the same clinic as I did last year and she's really happy with everything so that was another reason for me to go there.

wow bob, in Turkey :o
