The run-down - which was compiled using data from broadcast airplay and public performance in pubs, clubs, restaurants and other businesses - was revealed on the station this afternoon (April 5). The Beatles came in at Number Two in the chart, while the Sugababes were the only group in the chart who emerged during the last decade. The Top Ten of the People's Artist Chart was: 1. Madonna 2. The Beatles 3. Robbie Williams 4. Queen 5. Take That 6. Sugababes 7. Elton John 8. Elvis Presley 9. Abba 10. Coldplay

April 6, 201016 yr hmmm...i'd say that with the exception of Sugababes & Coldplay & Robbie Williams, the pattern is that the majority are bands/artists who have a huge music back catalogue & have been popular for decades (by now). & generally of the mainstream pop variety. interesting.
April 6, 201016 yr Those Brits are crazy! Coldplay should be #1 and that over-rated cougar Madonna should go and retire to the Kabbalah farm! I guess this is no surprise..coming from the country that brought us Simon Cowell and that stupid show where Susan Boyle came in at #2!

April 7, 201016 yr Well, I don't know how the things in UK works... So, I think the 10th place is very good!! Here in Brazil, a 10th place of the decade to Coldplay will be the most extraordinary event!!:laugh3:
April 7, 201016 yr Author Considering not only the other names in the chart but also those missing, I think it's a great position! They are ahead of the likes of Rolling stones, U2, Oasis, Radiohead, Snow Patrol, Keane, Red hot chili peppers... I think it's a great result :) Two things suprise me: Madonna ahead of The Beatles (... no comment ...) and Elvis Presley's 8th position! I hardly hear any of his songs on the radio, at what time do they pass him??
