Coldplaying's Albums of the Decade: RESULTS

Featured Replies

^I agree and I haven't even listened to the album :P I mean at least from reviews from critics and and overall view it doesn't seem like it was such an impact of an album.

I think honestly we should've waited a year or two, or even 5 before doing a best of the decade list. Especially since people are still digestion or obsessed with albums from last year, it probably skewed people's judgment on overall albums, but that's just my opinion

I agree with this, and I'd also like to add on to everyone's point about the Muse albums... First of all, I'm a huge Muse fan; I've seen them live and they're fantastic. However, Resistance was such a massive disappointment. It's their worst album other than their rookie album Showbiz, which doesn't really count for me. Origin of Symmetry, Black Holes and Revelations, and Absolution are all FAR superior.

I honestly haven't even listened to all of the Resistance. I just couldn't do it. I got so sick of it after repeated attempts to enjoy it. I own all their other albums so I'm not just a big Muse hater or anything.

It's grown on me to some extent...but nothing like I had hoped :(

I just had to listen to United States of Eurasia to know it was shit.

You can't really judge an album if you've only heard one song. United States of Eurasia is awful.

I think The Resistance is their worst album by far and it shouldn't have ranked nearly as high as it did, but I can't help but love Undisclosed Desires and the Exogenesis Symphony...

I was right though.

I listened to it on youtube a week ago, I hated it.

I'm thinking it was ranked so high because it's their latest, and heaps of fans would have got into Muse from that album. I'm guessing that's the same reason for VLV being so high too.

VLV is better because it has Death And All Of His Friends

Death and all His Friends could have been one of the best Coldplay songs, but then they had to go and ruin it with the part of "I don't want to battle from beginning to end..."

same thing with 42... it was such a great song until "you thought you might be a ghost"

I like LIT, Reign of Love and Strawberry Swing most from VLV

DAAHF is still really good as well as 42 (both were great live), but I find I slightly cringe when those parts come around. I feel they could've been better

I hate the string parts in Yes.

I'm not very fond of LIT, the beginning is nice, but the sudden change to the part of the chorus (talking about the instrumental) just doesn't fit that well.

They need to work a lot more on instrumentals.

How did it not fit? That rise in the song is what made it more upbeat. Without it, LiT would have been pretty dull.

There's something missing between both parts.

I do have to agree with the chorus bit in LIT. I felt that the "ohhs" took a bit away from the song.

I still love it though, as well as LITII

There is? I'm not hearing it.
