The Calligraphers.... I shall note that in the back of my mind :) Hope you guys will make it! Even if it's a tough world for musicians... but I guess Chris' words will give you strengh ^^

Good luck for your band/project!

Good story, thanks for sharing :D

AMAZING story!

What they said!

Seriously, what a great story to tell interviewers when they ask you 'How'd you get the name?'! You know, when your band's famous and all! :laugh3:

Thanks so much, if I can't get inspired by what he said, then I don't deserve any success tbh :)

I don't think it's that surprising, really, that you met them considering your location.

North-east England?

I envy you but in the sense way. I'm glad for you you're SO lucky!!!

oops, I was being a lazy reader and thought North London:embarrassed:

Yeh, I have thought this all through already haha :D

As I already told you, AMAZING!!

Stick with the band name, I agree with Chris it sounds pretty good :D

Does your band have any myspace where we could hear some tunes???

Thanks for sharing some of your experience with the boys with us. I find it really wonderful that Chris gave you advice in relation to the name of your band.

"Calligraphers" sounds really awesome. It is true: The name really makes you wonder what your music is about. THANKS AGAIN. And congratulations on meeting the boys.

Nope, we just sorted the name ofc, so I'm gonna set up the pages like myspace asap, for Ian, I did buy the domain names, and I've also got my Facebook page up and running, thanks to those who have joined, and also invite your friends if you like :)

Its wierd to have this Coldplay link, I don't wanna try and promote my band just through the Coldplay connection ofc, but I can't help but mention it somewhere, especially as I feel like shouting it from the rooftops right now! lol

Thank you to the people who have replied btw.

Like I said I can't give any details about how/where/why it happened, but its not what anyone has suggested or guessed on here anyway!

I can say what happened, but only briefly though. I'll just tell some of my conversation with Chris and Phil, which was around 20-25 minutes long! After introductions, we spoke about various things, firstly about how he and coldplay are my inspiration, and he is a personal hero of mine. At which point I said " I'm a bit nervous, You just dunno how it feels to meet your heroes" ... then I backtracked thinking that he probably has met them! He went on to say "I have met some of them, but not all, and not Bob Dylan, he is the one I've always wanted to meet but it has never happened"

I went on to say that I'm trying to find the way of becoming successful in the music industry, and how I believe the Coldplay story is a pretty good one to follow-suit from. My friend then commented "Yeh, we just need our own Chris Martin!" to which he replied:

"What? Why the hell would you want a cock like Chris Martin in your band?!" ... I burst with laughter, he is so charming and funny.:)

....................because you will have a guaranteed success:D

Thanks for sharing, congrats and good luck!

Thanks for sharing, Craig! :)

The Calligraphers sounds great. Isn't it cool that if your band succeed, whenever Chris and Phil hear the name The Calligraphers they will think of you and the chat they had with you?

Edit: You need to send Coldplay your My Space link and Facebook-page, when you have put music up!!

oh, chris in confident about christmas release
