Vuvuzelas: spiritful or just plain annoying?

Featured Replies

Well the poll is currently even. 4-4-4

And I love the new smiley too! :vuvuzela:

I saw some blokes carrying them yesterday, I dunno how they managed to get their hands on one.

That was gonna be my line

it's annoying, but it is also spiritful.

I GOT TO PLAY ONE TODAY!! HOORAY! ....but then some builders said I wasn't playing it right, but i carried on regardless - sounded fine to me!

I got my wisdom teeth out just before the world cup started. The plan was 1 week home to recover and watch lots of games.

But those freaking horns magnify pain by about 10x. :cry2:

I`ll always watch England`s games anyway, but I haven`t been able to watch any of the others. :(

Sorry to hear that! I wish you full and speedy recovery.

They are annoying and they haven't been part of their culture until this world cup. everyone is talking about it as though they have had them for a hundred years and there is a deep spiritual side to them. there isn't, they are just a marketing gimmick.

on the other hand i have heard that when you are in the stadium they sound a lot better since you can hear the section you are in. the speakers pick up sounds from all over the crowd so it all blurs into one and sounds horrible (also pretty much how the players feel i think being stuck in the middle of them all).

you can't beat the sound of the crowd, the chants, the cheers, the raise in volume when an attack builds.

vuvuzelas should all be snapped in half and they should concentrate on another side of their culture which has some actual roots. there is so much great african culture to choose from.

There's a competition on the radio here where people have to guess the song played on the vuvuzela.

:laugh4:

I like them, hope to hear vuvuzelas on the 5th Coldplay album:rolleyes:

local news said that a shipment of vuvuzela's are soon going to arrive at a nearby soccer store. The virus is out, soccer as we once knew it shall die.

We already have a vuvuzela smiley? :surprised:

:wreck:

It sounds like a buzzing housefly. Bzzzzzzzzzzz

I'm not sure if a housefly buzzes. :shame:
