Dear drivers...

Featured Replies

A thought occurred to me today in that for the last 15 years of owning a car I cannot remember the last time I drove for the love of driving rather than the necessity of getting from A to B.

I'm don't think its just me either, I think its the lifestyle drivers have become accustomed to - higher fuel prices, costs of wear and tear, repairs, less hours in the day to drive for no reason, traffic jams etc etc.

When was the last time you went for a drive just because? Do you only drive because you need to? Has the enjoyment of driving for driving's sake gone?

If I didn't fail at driving, I'd just drive to burn gas and because I can.

I really love driving. I've been driving for more than a year now and I don't think I'll ever get bored of it, at least, I hope so hehe

I'd say the main reason I drive is to get from a to be or run errands but I really enjoy driving. I find it extremely relaxing

I never drive for fun. I'd probably get lost if I tried.

erm to be honest.. I do not like to drive at all! but it's mainly because I like to look around. I would rather have someone drive around instead...but if it's of course my 370z!! then get the hell out of my car! :snobby: omg! omg! omg! *clap clap clap!!!* I wants it! :wideeyed:

But to answer your question then it was a few weeks ago but mainly 'cause I was paranoid & I kidnapp my niece along the way as well :P I'm having her until tomorrow :/

Ive been driving for three years and sometimes i just go for a drive at night when all the roads are empty, I listen to late night radio or a CD, It so relaxing and it clears my mind, It gives me time to think. I just have to watch out for wildlife. I also drove from Essex to scotland for fun once when i first passed to practice which was brilliant, the roads up there are great.

hope you had some pit stops!

I really want to bike rather than drive, but traffic and no shoulders makes it a bit risky here in the summers (tourists driving increases risks)...

But yes, on occasion, a jaunt around the lakes here on a winding country road I do enjoy, rare as those drives are! Today I took the long road home, soaked in the country air, looked at the corn tassels starting to emerge from a sea of green corn plants, checked out the water levels in a few lakes along the way - lily pads dotting the surfaces of each.

Surely, as an international superstar, you now have a chauffeur, don't you?

I love driving.

Unfortunately I don't have a car...only my parents have. So I have to ask them to get it. I only drive to get to my destination, but I love doing it...esp. with good music

i'm not insured so there's no driving for me at all atm :(

How come? Are you uninsurable?:P

nah, never claimed so my insurance price isn't too bad. just can't afford it right now.

if i wanted to be a listed temporary driver on my mum and dads car it would cost them £200 a year extra, and that's without me actually getting insured. that's to give me the possibility of getting insured on the car. i'd have to pay another couple of hundred on top to drive for a couple of months of the year, meaning about £400 in total at least. not worth it :(

:stunned:

What a rip-off! Do your parents have a powerful car?

I love driving...I don't drive much, but everytime I do I will enjoy the ride.

However, the price of fuel has just been increased (despite the fact that my country produce our own petrol..oh the joy of having a corrupted government) so I'm trying to avoid wasting my money on petrol hence only driving to get from A to B.

I had to give my car back because the lease expired,I'm seriously thinking about ditching a car for one of these:

I want, I want!

I hate driving. Cause I'm terrible at it.

I don't drive much during the school year though cause I don't have a car at school so it's kind of perfect.

I see it more as a transport. Although driving while listening to music discovering new places is fun. I don't like much driving in city because people are waay too clumsy and I love speed.

I can't drive just because I wanna for 2 reasons:

1. I don't have a car.

2. I hate driving.
