Damn! :stunned: Yes, that movie is incredibly sad :( apparently so! :dazzled: It honestly changed my outlook on life though. It's a movie I won't forget anytime soon. coldplayfan_115
My friend (who is not a member of Coldplaying) wants to thank you for the soundtrack too. She got me started on Sherlock, so I had to share. :)
dry_pretzels
Steven Moffat talked a little about plans for the third series in an interview, and he basically says that Moriarty is, well, really gone. “Moriarty’s a one-shot deal in the original [books]. I don’t want [sherlock] to turn into a show that’s about one villain and one hero,” said Moffat.“Moriarty was great because he was a surprise. Every time you bring him back he won’t be as big a surprise. “We need to find new villains, we need to find new ideas, otherwise the show doesn’t keep growing,” he added, in an interview for a French website. source. ETA: I'm sort of torn. I'm glad that it seems like they're not bringing him back (to me, it would invalidate Jim's character and motives if he really did fake his death), but at the same time . . . MORIARTYYYYY :bigcry: I just love his character so much.

I'd be disappointed with Gatiss and Moffat if they brought him back, but at the same time I love Andrew Scott's interpretation of Moriarty back it seems almost a waste to only have him for two seasons. Dany93
I really liked Moriarty, he was the perfect villain, and as you all say, Andrew made it really great. But I agree with what Moffat said, in Doyle's books Moriarty only appears once. He can't remain for too long, even two series is too much actually, it would become unrealistic, closer to a fantasy film than a detective story, a bit like Harry Potter with the eternal contrast between good and evil... It wouldn't be a good idea. And it would be too predictable too, it's got to change.
The Doctor
^that's why I don't really get the ending of The Valley Of Fear actually, Sherlock says that Moriarty is behind the death of the man but he died in Reichenbach according to Sherlocks talks with Watson :\
Dany93
^ I know, The Valley Of Fear takes place before The Final Problem, but in The Final Problem Sherlock doesn't seem to know anything about him at the start... Maybe Doyle got it wrong unintentionally, because he published The Final Problem before The Valley Of Fear, so maybe he'd forgotten the beginning of TFP when he was writing the other one... I don't know, it's a weird contradiction
Megalomania
If Moffat and Gatiss don't have Sebastian Moran than I will be very disappointed.
dry_pretzels
Andrew Scott love all around! :D Gah, he was fantastic, and I'd love to see him in more roles. I'm so glad that the creators/writer (Thompson) came up with an amazing exit (and amazing lead-up to it) for Moriarty. The Valley of Fear with the whole Moriarty chronology confused me so much. Let's hope it will just be a pilot only :blank: I have nothing against Jonny Lee Miller nor Lucy Liu, but Joan Watson seriously?!?! http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2012-02-28/lucy-liu-to-play-watson-in-us-sherlock-holmes-drama-elementary
