Uefa Champions League/Europa League Thread 2010-2011

How come you support Bayern?

Because she's American she can't support Bayern?, seeing how football isn't nearly as big in the US as it is in Europe it's more than likely she doesn't have a local team to follow so is interested in European football and picked Bayern to follow, not everyone wants to support Man Utd or Chelsea you know.

I'm not even too sure what 'american style soccer' looks like. Its more the fact that european leagues have better players, a more developed system and a larger fanbase. If you're a soccer fan in America you're not going to be satisfied by just supporting say, the Chicago Fire. I spend most of my time concentrating on the Premier League and Bundesliga.

I've never seen an American team play, the only one I really know of is LA Galaxy because of Beckham.

It was quite a bad loss for Werder, I would feel sorry for them if I wasn't an Inter supporter:laugh3:.

Liverpool only managing to get a goal-less draw against Dutch side FC Utrecht

Fc Porto had a difficult win, but it is the best team in Europe League

this year porto were straight to europa league, because in portuguese championship last year things went bad... but this year... you will see

FULL-TIME Man City 1-1 Juventus

World beaters my arse

Man City is too weak for now...

they really need a better manager

City looked a slightly better team to be fair, and Juve remain to be a competitive outfit (Though obviously a shadow of itself).

If that Del Piero free kick had gone in I'd have creamed myself.

The most annoying thing right now is City fans who think Johnson is going to continue playing at this standard, he's a good player- good pace, decent skill, solid shot- he's not a genius. Right now he keeps being given so much time to not only collect the ball but have a run with it (That awkward skill-less stupid stepover he keeps doing is so annoying) and he'll easily be closed down when teams start to realise he's good enough to be a threat.

This time next year he won't be in the first team, along with Milner, and I'll be surprised if Gareth Barry is a regular starter.

Oh and Utrecht away deserves a bit more respect, especially from Liverpool. Sure at their best Liverpool could make it convincing, but everyone keeps saying 'Liverpool in full flight could...' but when's the last time we've actually seen them 'in full flight' in a competitive match?

They should be content with a draw in what was a really stale match, neither team did anything to stir it up.

I agree, you say one word about soccer here and the response is

I spend most of my time of the EPL and Bundesliga too!! and sometimes Serie A games!

Inter arn't doing badly at the moment but I don't think they will retain the trophy,I think they will win Serie A again though.

The best American soccer teams are the Galaxy, Columbus Crew, Real Salt Lake and Seattle Sounders (imo). New York has Henry now, but historically they haven't been too consistent.

Rafa Benitez is no where near as good a coach as Jose Mourinho!!!

I'm starting to think Real Madrid will win now

I watch GOLtv news and they show MLS things and yeah all those teams have some excellent players!!
