The "If you liked X, you'll love Y" thread

Featured Replies

Here is a thread where people can find out about new bands and albums that they'll really like.

You can post an Amazon.com style suggestion here for albums, bands etc so for example I might post "If you like OK Computer, you should try The Places Between: The Best of Doves." It'll help people who might be struggling to find new music to get into.

Alternatively, you can post questions/requests for anyone to answer. So for example, someone might ask "I really like the latest I Am Kloot album, Sky At Night. What else can I try?" and someone else might answer "You'd probably like Leaders Of The Free World by Elbow"

Enjoy :)

If you like Sigur Rós or/and Jónsi & Alex you'll like...

Parachutes! :cheesy:

Parachutes are really good, guys. For real.

If you liked Origin Of Symmetry by Muse or OK Computer by Radiohead you might like/love The Deep End by Madrugada

If you like The Drums, then you might like:

Two Door Cinema Club

Surfer Blood

Wavves

Best Coast

Mystery Jets

Tokyo Police Club

Blood Red Shoes

If you like Jedward than you might like 101 annoying high-pitched sounds :P

If you like Sigur Ros, you may like Justin Beiber backwards.

If you like Coldplay, Mew and/or a-ha odds are you'll like Apparatjik too  A big band with allusions of obscurity :)

And if you like coldplaying.com, you *love* apparatchick.com....whaaaa??? ...jus' saying

// end shameless promotion

:P

If I like the Kaiser Chiefs' Employment, what else might I enjoy?

If you like The Masterplan by Oasis, you'll love The Queen is Dead by The Smiths

I think this would work better as a game. Like, someone says 'if A, you'll love B'. The next person goes, 'well, if you love B, you'll really love C.' etc. etc.

^^

doesnt that just become a game like the ones we have in WoM Games section?

The West Rider Pauper Lunatic Asylum by Kasabian

Hot Fuss by The Killers

i love Employment also but i didnt quite enjoy the Kasabian album but you're totally right about Hot Fuss, i know loads of people who loved Employment and Hot Fuss. they're both such great up beat melody heavy albums.

Yeah, I'm not a huge Kasabian fan either, but it's similar to Employment. Hot Fuss is good, but personally I prefer Sam's Town

Actually, I think "Sam's Town" is probably my least favorite Killers album.

Thanks for suggesting that! I'll listen to it when I have time.

I loooooveeee Hot Fuss, and I'd have to agree with Violet about Sam's Town. I still love it, of course, but I think it's The Killers' weakest album.
