The idyllic childhood home of Coldplay's Chris Martin is on the market

here it's all about the money you have, no matter if it's old money or you worked for it.

anyway, back to the topic, it's a lovely house and I don't see why would people criticize Chris because his family had some money, it's not like you must suffer and live in a cardboard box to be an artist.

I always thought he grew up in an average home too. I would not mind living there!

I grew up in the USA of middle class, and altho we had 4 bathrooms and 5 bedrooms, it wasn't anywhere near that size or lot size, we were middle class.

I grew up in a one bedroom condo.

...My room was the attic.

Utter Hell.

Middle class in America tends to mean comfortable, with no real shortage of essentials and creature comforts, but average. A house with ponies and a tennis court and that much land etc would be "upper class," even though people don't really use that term here so often. "Rich" is a more common term, at least where I come from. And I never pictured Chris as what I understand to mean rich, even though I'm well aware of what "middle class" means in England...my American will always outweigh my English on that front :P

So Chris growing up in a McMansion makes me feel a little :freak:

It's almost exactly how I puctured it. Weird. I really hope his parents aren't splitting up. His mum spends alot of her time in London....so maybe he is moving to be closer....I hope.

At their age, downsizing should not invoke speculation of an ending, marital, or otherwise.

Yeah, moreso the life stage than the age though. It's that time where the children have left the nest and they just don't need the extra room anymore. Probably is getting more tiring and expensive to maintain too.

Good point...my parents did the same after we flew the nest.

awww Chris should buy it. Moses could have lots of room to run about.

certainly and more a park for children,

I do not know why they have 3 houses already.

but this house has a true soul of family away from showbise

Yes I was thinking this morning that if I were Chris and had his money, I would buy it...but then he has never appeared to be one to flash his cash.....maybe he doesnt get attached to houses like some people do.

Wow, what a lovely home and setting...

i love that house if i had money that chris has i would buy it.
