December 8, 200322 yr WOHOO!!!!!! The Coral finally have a thread. I've got both of their albums and I agree they are great. :)
December 12, 200322 yr I love the Coral :D They have this unique, oldies style... gotta love 'Dreaming Of You'. Oh and Bill McCai of course!
December 13, 200322 yr I noticed that many fans of coldplay have the same taste in music... this is great!! The Coral is a fabulous band!! You have to love their songs "Dreaming of you" and "Goodbye"
February 12, 200422 yr The Coral- Nightfreak and the Sons of Becker What do people think of the Coral's "mini album"? It only lasts 28 minutes but I think that it's great. :D
February 12, 200422 yr Wait... The Coral released a new album? :stunned: whoa, i didn't know that. Well, if it is as good as the old ones, i'm sure that it's brilliant.
February 12, 200422 yr They are only releasing a certain amount, I think it's something like 75,000 copies for some strange reason. It was released about two weeks ago. The album hasn't really been talked about a lot. It's good though.
February 12, 200422 yr Ah, that's great! Thx for the info, Marie! :D Probably they're not going to release it here in brazil though. damn. :/
February 12, 200422 yr No problem. :) I think that the band are working on new material, so it won't be long until another album is realeased. This album was recorded in 24 hours.
March 22, 200422 yr They got good coverage here, being in a gossip magazine which is unusual, and they got a good rating for their latest CD. I've only got one single of theirs but I like their style.
March 23, 200422 yr Hey Marie, do you have that mini album's track list? I tried to find it here and it is IMPOSSIBLE to find any news about that cd in brazilian sites. :/ Do you know if people are sharing the new songs (from that mini album, i mean) on kazaa?
November 27, 200520 yr The Coral - please help I've just been to see The Coral at Liverpool Uni, was bloomin' marvellous :D Was wondering if anybody is going to see them at any of their other venues? If you are would it be possible for you to please get me a tour t shirt (i'll send you the money obviously) as I had to rush off right after it finished unfortunately. Help would be much appreciated.
August 7, 200718 yr Bump! Their new album has an entry into my top 5 albums of the year so far. Roots & Echoes, it's out now.
August 14, 200718 yr *bump* i absolutely love their new album 'roots and echoes'! i'd love to them in concert, i think about going to their manchester gig.
August 14, 200718 yr When I saw them in Southampton in 2005 they were pretty good, but when I saw them again in Cardiff later that year it looked like they couldn't be bothered.
January 9, 200818 yr The Coral lose band member One of the Scousers has quit the group Guitarist Bill Ryder-Jones has left The Coral, it was announced today (January 9). The Liverpool band released a statement confirming the departure, but said that they were working on new material and will continue as a five-piece. Ryder-Jones, who Ian Broudie – formerly of The Lightning Seeds and producer of The Coral’s debut album – had described as “the best guitarist in Liverpool”, had left the band in 2004 due to illness, but later rejoined. Ryder-Jones has yet to announce whether he will continue with other musical projects. http://www.nme.com/news/the-coral/33546
August 31, 201015 yr Right, well...I've been thinking of starting a Coral thread for a while. Was hesitant cos I figured it'd just be me, talking to myself.... but anyway, gonna bite the bullet & give it a go, see if there's anyone (anyone?) else who loves 'em like I do, even just likes 'em a bit, maybe has one of the albums, or even has only ever heard Pass It On....? Wikipedia describes them as ... a mixture of old-fashioned country, 1960s-style psychedelia and folk with modern rock influences Some vids.... Dreaming Of You (someone must have heard this one before!) August 31, 201015 yr I did hear of them , but don't know the songs by tittle , if you know what I mean ? I'm gonna search some more songs :nice:
August 31, 201015 yr All the best bands in the world have come from the north of England! The Beatles, Oasis, The Verve, The La's, The Smiths, Dire Straits, The Police (Sting's a northerner so that's allowed), the list is endless! Heck even bands today like Elbow and The Coral shove it in the face of their pretentious southern contemporaries (Coldplay excluded of course)!
August 31, 201015 yr ^ True that. :) Ooooh there's a great little quote from Noel Gallagher about The Coral... "The Coral are so far ahead of their time and their peers it's a joke. The best band of their generation by a very long mile" - Noel Gallagher I love him for that :D
