^no no no!, just be quiet, the cliche idea of beautiful! show us you boobs! take sexy airbrushed pictures in magazines! now sing us a song about nothing that sounds just like that other song about nothing... now sell sex, sell it!! sit!!!... roll over! Good pop star!!!

Guys wtf, stop being indie faggots, they just make popular music and love what they're doing and clearly touch a ton of people cuz look at their fans. going OMG LOL MILEY CYRUS IS SOOO MAINSTREAM I H8 HER SO MUCH LOL doesn't make you cool. It's just stupid.

Same goes with any pop artist. I guess fame getting on your nerves can be annoying but running around and screaming about it just makes you a) annoying, b) look reallly pretentious, and c) immature n stuff.

Dude you're just proving Sawa right.

Dude you're just proving Sawa right.

me?

wait Sawa?

what? :inquisitive:

Come on people, it's like no one can take a joke on this forum. Stop taking everything so seriously guys

Exactly. Nothing wrong with a good old bit of harmless "celeb bashing".:P

Of course, it isn't a case of "hating" anyone per se, just detesting their image or terrible output.

Katy Perry isn't anywhere near as annoying as Gargoyle or Miley Cyrus incidentally, but her latest single is a classic example of tacky pop trash.:dozey:

My theory is that you don't really hate either of them, you have a huge crush on them which you're embarassed about, especially Lady Gaga.

I don't hate someone because I don't like thier music, it's easy enough to avoid most music you don't like which is what I tend to do and am indifferent to the peope who like it.

Some people really like Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry and good for them, I'm glad they enjoy the music and I'm glad these pop stars make music for them to enjoy, it has no bearing on my life whatsoever, I actually think Lady Gaga has done some pretty catchy decent pop music and while I'm not her biggest fan I certainly respect her.

Good one.

Any respect I might have had for her vanished after she transformed herself into a "freak".

But what do you get out of hating some random celebrity? unless they have personally offended or hurt you, murdered your family  there is no great reason.

Surely it would be better to show your love or appreciation for something.

No?

As I have said on countless occasions, I don't "hate" anyone. It isn't personal. I actually think the word "hate" is inappropriate.

But I like you a lot better Mark,

when you show your love and appreciation for just say ...Stephen fry or the sherlock holmes series.

You do begin to irritate me when you show your dislike ( ...? ) for pop acts.

I'm pretty sure if anyone else on the board kept going on about how much they are annoyed by something then I would get tired by it.

I very much doubt it. People's reaction to other users on here appears to be based on whether they "like" them or not, or certain affiliations. Otherwise all such comments would be condemned, regardless of who was responsible for them.

Anyway, if anyone genuinely finds such comments annoying, they should make use of the "ignore" function, or simply give the thread in question a wide berth.;)

And yes, I do have a lot of respect for Stephen Fry, and Sherlock Holmes was one of the best series of the year.

I like ( or as you put it "like" ) a lot of people on here,

but if they start talking a whole lot of shit I do not agree with, I will not approve of it just because of who they are or if i like them. I either will try to see their point of view. And If i can't honestly do that, then i'll do my best to ignore it, which tbh is one of the best things to do on this site.

Now I can't speak for everyone, but that's how I try to be.

but if they start talking a whole lot of shit I do not agree with, I will not approve of it just because of who they are or if i like them.

Fair enough, but that hasn't appeared to have been the case on certain occasions in the past.

All I'm saying is, people should at least be consistent, otherwise they can't expect to be taken seriously.

In the unedited version I said I "try" and I "do my best"

I never said I was always consistent in doing that.

I hope I am not wasting my time on this banal debate,

but we all know topics like these have been gone over and over so many times before on this site.

Annoyingly, I'm not even fans of these acts,

I'm just less of a fan of people showing dislike for others.

You could say the same about countless topics on here. I don't understand all the antipathy shown towards Gwyneth, personally, but if people want to keep bashing her, that's their choice, and I'm not going to rag them out for it. I'll just ignore the comments concerned.;)

Well that would cover a very large proportion of the people on this site in one way or another, I reckon.

haha so sad to see people so obsessed with celebrities, get a life. Saying "oh ________ is shit, bla bla bla" once or twice is fine but saying it everyday for years it's very lame and sad

Anyway, I'd relate all this constantly hate to a great level of immatureness of course, and/or trolling behavior.

You could say exactly the same about people who are obsessed with other Coldplayers. That's exactly the kind of hypocrisy I'm talking about.:dozey:

yeah I assume you're talking about you of course, sending private facebook conversations of some coldplayers to the admins

yeah but I won't say more, he knows it's true (and it just showed his sad and pathetic behavior again) and we should go back to the topic.

btw, Leo  :wacky:

Well as the topic in question is clearly to do with bashing pathetic pop stars such as Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry and Lady Gargoyle, anyone not interested in doing that should quit the thread!

Good one.

Granted she is a little, um..... odd but what she's doing doesn't infringe on your life at all, it seems a bit pointless hating someone so passionatly when you can easily avoid them and spend your time thinking about oter things.

As I said, I don't "hate" her at all. It's merely a bit of p*ss-taking. Nobody forces her to dress up like something out of a circus and make crap music.:dozey:

Yes it's all "a bit of a joke" but what you forget is that uh, jokes are meant to be funny?

"I wish Miley would drown in a barrel of her own piss". Lul?

This is totally lame because it's blatantly like Sara said, trying to be so indie by hating things that you feel unite people. In reality, who gives a fuck about Miley? If you and your friends talk about how much you hate celebrities, then you all deserve eachother's company.

There's just nothing to talk about here.
