Shut up Mark.

The BNP brings some people together, doesn't mean it's necessarily a special thing.

Shut up yourself, and stop trying to spoil everyone's fun on such an historic day.:smug:

No party poopers or whingers allowed.

Well freedom of speech is allowed Mark, as much as you dislike it.

And I'm not spoiling your fun, if you are loving this then you are more than likely capable of ignoring logical statements and rejoicing in some random people's special day.

Anyway, in her case, the dress was worse than the hat!:P

True... it kind of reminded me of a mattress cover from the 70s.

Shut up Mark.

I think for any other member of the Royal family then it wouldn't be that special. But from a personal point of view, for a man who's had to lead his whole life in the public eye including the harrowing distress he and his brother were put through after all what happened to Diana (both he and his brother having to mourn so publicly 14 years ago following their dead mothers coffin into the church), you'd have to be a pretty shallow person not to feel happy for him. Whether you are a republican or not no one can deny what an asset that guy is for Britain. He's a fantastic ambassador for the UK and does his work effortlessly. It's certainly better having people like him represent us than the power hungry bastards that sit in the House of Commons week in week out.

Hear, hear. Not only that, but Kate seems very genuine as well as looking great.

They are going to be great assets to the royal family as well as the nation.:D

People die.

He's expected to do charity work.

I have no feelings towards him.

That's not really a response worth dignifying with my own.

I think it is good for the nation, but only because it's a nation of morons. If anybody has any interest in their lives then I can only come to the conclusion that they have very little going on in their own lives and are desperate to cling on to something, whether it's middle aged nobodies who see it as an excuse for patriotism, or girls brought up on fairytale weddings who are deluding themselves into thinking that this means that everything will be right in the world.

You see my idea of "nation of morons" is epitomised in this sort of reply.

Whether they are middle aged nobodies or deluded little girls just let them be happy. They aren't doing anything offensive so let them be.

Mark you seriously need to accept other people's opinions sometimes, just saying it really irritates me.

Agreed. They're not doing anyone any harm.

I enjoyed watching some of it, mostly just seeing so many people together and cheering.

my mum was getting really irritating banging on about tradition and how it's such a shock if something is done slightly differently.

That's OK, as it's just a difference of opinion relating to how things are actually done on the day.

At least it isn't just blindly dismissing the whole occasion and comparing it to a BNP gathering, or calling Britain a "nation of morons", which is pretty inexcusable.:dozey:

As I said before, people can celebrate it how they like and my posts won't change anything. Just giving my opinion. Calm down gentlemen and enjoy the day.

1. I did not compare it to a BNP gathering. If you'll read what I put you will realise that I meant that listing random things and saying they bring people together, even though they are unrelated (why on earth did you bring up Coldplay so randomly, BingBoy?) is quite bizarre and many things bring people together, even negative things.

2. It's a world full of morons, in general.

well I saw a few bits of it when they played the re runs , so could not sit and watch that entire thing.

It will no doubt be repeated to death and you'll see every moment a million times over.

Most people in this country saw more of Diana's wedding this week than they did when it actually happened.

Yes, but even the most cynical of people would be able to see that there was nothing negative about this occasion.:dozey:

As for Coldplay, this is a Coldplay site, so no references are ever random.;)

And anyway, it's just a bit of fun.

Maybe so, but you implied Britain was a nation of morons.:dozey:

I think you just make statements about Coldplay, and happiness to get people to like you and agree with you, when if they actually read what you had to say they'd realise you were a fool. You seem to have learned Pavlovian style by being on this board that to get people to like you you have to say good things about Coldplay.

Maybe so, but you implied Britain was a nation of morons.:dozey:

You think Britain is better than the rest of the world?

When I say it's a world full of morons, why does that make it OK and make you say 'Maybe so', yet I can't say Britain is a country full of morons? Surely by saying it's a world full of morons, generally, then that includes Britain?

Me being British would lead most people to understand that I was talking generally.

Implying Britain is a nation of morons suggests the whole country is moronic, whereas saying somewhere is "full" of morons just implies there are a lot of them.

Big difference.:dozey:
