Information:

 

1) Congratulations to all the members who were successful. Some names have been deliberately removed from the winning list because they have made it known that they are almost certainly likely to be picked by another winner as their guest (and vice-versa), saving them the trouble of having to hand back the passes or spend time finding a partner.

 

2) Commiserations to those who were unsuccessful this time - but all is not lost - you may still be able to "find a partner" above willing to select you as their guest. Remember, there are 100 places in total, not just 50!

 

3) SO FAR ALL UNCONFIRMED NAMES ARE IN RED, PLEASE CONFIRM TO ME EITHER VIA PM OR ON THIS THREAD THAT YOU HAVE ACCEPTED THE PASSES, THEN YOUR NAME WILL TURN TO GREEN.

 

4) Because of the short notice to this event, you will have until 5pm GMT on Sunday 21st November to confirm your attendance, after this time the tickets will be made available to others.

 

3) Winners will also be invited to the Social Group: Festive boat trip 2010 at http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/group.php?groupid=279

5) COMPULSORY! Winners will make their own homemade fancy nameplate/tag/sticker with your screenname on it (and one for your guest if they are not from Coldplaying) so everyone can recognise you on the night. There will be lots of people who don't know each other so this is an attempt to break the ice for everyone as a group (plain stickers will be available to those who are unable to make their own (or can't be bothered :P). Real names and other messages are at your discretion :)

Hello everybody!

 

Firstly, this is NOT a wind up! Please read the following announcement

Dear Coldplaying

 

In recognition of your support for Coldplay throughout 2010 (and long before that!) we'd like to take 100 of your members (50 pairs) on a Festive Boat Trip in London next week. As well as cruising along the Thames, you'll get to have Q&As with Coldplay's creative director and fifth member, Phil Harvey and with two of Coldplay's touring crew (Matthew Miller and Matt McGinn). We also have a few special surprises up our sleeves for the evening.

 

The trip will take place on the evening of either Thu November 25th or Fri November 26th. Unfortunately, we may not know until the beginning of next week which date it will be (because of one of our surprises...), so anyone wishing to come will need to commit to being free on both nights. This means if anyone comes from outside London or UK, they will need to be staying in London on both the Thursday and Friday night.

 

We expect the boat to board at around 6pm in central London, and disembark at the same location around 11.30pm (fans should plan their journeys home for that time - and, in case of delay, later). Refreshments will be provided. Please dress up warm as it could well be quite chilly.

 

We will only be able to take Coldplay fans over the age of 16 on the boat trip - with anyone aged 16 or 17 needing to be accompanied by someone over the age of 18.

Deadline for entries is (5pm GMT) on Friday 19th November and winners will have to make own travel and/or accommodation arrangements. This gives you 6 days from knowing you've been selected until the event.

 

Coldplaying will be selecting the winners in a similar fashion to that of the Today Show VIP passes organised in 2008 - which means:

 

To be in with a chance of winning two passes (one pair), all you need to do is send a private message to me here with a short message answering the following questions:

 

1) Full name, age and email address;

2) why you, as a Coldplaying.com Coldplay fan, deserves to be on that boat.

3) How many times have you seen Coldplay live?

 

In order to ensure that all the passes go to genuine Coldplay fans we are only selecting members who have registered and posted on the forums yesterday (18th November) or earlier.

 

Don't forget to include your full name, age and email address otherwise your entry will not be accepted.

 

Winners will be contacted by email and Private Message after the deadline.

It will be an opportunity to win 2 passes, and in some instances it may be preferable/necessary to take a family member /guardian along, therefore only the person who is entering needs to be on Coldplaying. But there's nothing to stop you from choosing a Coldplaying friend as your "guest" as long as they meet the conditions in the announcement above! :)

I was actually getting really bummed that my Thanksgiving looked like it could be me eating Indian takeaway in front of my computer...but I think hanging with Phil and Miller and Matt would TOTALLY make me feel less blue about the whole thing, even if it's on Friday rather than Thursday!
