What do people make of the 2012 Doomsday theory?

Featured Replies

I know there has been loads of talk for years about this and the Mayan calender etc, even a fairly recent Hollywood Film, but there's as much to disprove the theory as prove it, what are your opinions on the subject?.

I personally think it's not going to happen.

Haha anyone else assume this was an Arwen topic when you saw the title?

Oh and I think it's a load of crap but don't really know what you're talking about and don't think it's worth the time reading about.

I haven't read up on it much, the thread was actually inspired by watching the film which I thought was shit too by the way.

it won't happen...

but even if it does I couldn't give a fuck

I don't think it will happen, but if it does it would suck because I wouldn't even have graduated. ;_;

But I really don't think it's going to happen at all. . .

Well, of course not, you'd be dead! :P

they have some coincidences linked to events and persons with predictions in which when made one could not have been influenced by the other.

However I don't know if I believe that doomsday will be December 21st 2012.

maybe something big will happen but to go as far as to say doomsday I'm not so convinced.

I doubt it'll happen.

The theory is bullshit but the film is so bad it's actually quite funny. Kind of like those reeeally low budget horror movies. :wacky:

It's meant to be the 21st of December 2012 not the 31st ^

It's like that time they built the hadron collider and people were like 'Oh noes were gonna get sucked into a black hole'

I don't believe it either really.

exactly, everyone would be :awesome:

The film is boring D:

thanks I edited :)

Its funny because this has as much evidence as any religion yet people base their entire lives on religion....

Anyway, this prediction has as much weight as me saying "the world will end in 4063" so if anyone believes it then they are idiots.

I don't anything will happen. I think also another need for the commotion is because the astronomy aspect to it in that that date is when there's a big allignment to the center of the universe. I do find some of the other prophecies by people like nostrdamus interesting but they are usually pretty vague. It'll probably be just like y2k

I was so disappointed when the Y2K thing didn't happen.

It's true, the film was so crappy you ended up laughing at the absurdity of what happened.

I don't think it'll happen.

I did  I don't know if you have seen the Day After Tomorrow, but if you have and you thought that one was bad, this one is even worse...much worse.

well, this one was worse. I don't want to spoil it for you, in case you do want to watch it in the future, but everything was so exaggerated, it was even more unbelievable than it originally was if you don't believe in this theory. The visual effects were not that good either.
