the first copy of every promo is sold for a lot of money.

I remember the first copy of strawberry swing was sold for the same amount of money.

I would never want any CD that badly.

If you would be offered a safety ep for that money, you'd buy it :D

No, I wouldn't. I could never justify spending that much on a CD.

You don't have the collector's blood in you then !

I read somewhere that it's inheritable

$200 is actually cheap for Safety

I probably would get it if offered for that much

i'm sure this one is rarer than the normale strawberry swing one.

I guess you're right. I rate personal experiences far more highly than material things.

Therefore a concert or meeting the band mean far more to me than any object.

Think meeting the band would mean a lot to most people, but there's also a personal experience to collecting. At least for me, it's not just "oh, I have $50; what can I spend it on?". I've been in love with this band since parachutes, and decided a long time ago that I enjoyed collecting music. Follwing CP through the past decade and collecting the rarities I feel fortunate to have found has been a journey. I love popping open my cases, pulling out some items and recalling the hunt, bs-ing with other collectors and helping eachother find items. I've had the fortune to form many personal relationships over the past years with fellow fans and collectors. To me, collecting is far more personal and memorable than a trip to WalMart. Though I do agree, I'd trade my copy of Safety for a meet-n-greet any day.

I've had the same experience through meeting fellow Coldplayers at concerts and meet-ups.

I guess it's just a different means to the same end.;)

There appear to be lots of crazy people about!:stunned:

I consider myself crazy when it comes to collecting, but I wouldn't give this much for something of which the authenticity isn't proven. Anyways, maybe now with this purchase it will be.

Did anyone from here win it?

Wow...just saw that!

Now the big q: did winner one get a good deal? Or did both auction winners get very burned? Guess only time will tell!

Yeah I know. With new releases it's always a question of waiting. Sometimes buying the first copy will make you get the best deal, sometimes it'll just suck money out of your pockets. I think more promo's will become availible though.

we just have to wait.. but i suspect this is absolutely real and rare.

ermmm...i was wondering, but that "Location" for the auction that closed for US$200+ isn't quite right, isn't it?

Item location: nottinghamshire Nottinghamshire, GB, United States

or is there a state in the US with the abbreviation "GB"? which i highly doubt, but i could be wrong...

nottinghamshire is a county in England FAIL !

Scam alert!!:shocked2:

Meh. Valid seller, no complaints of items not received. More suspicious of the single negative complaint alleging the item (a Paris boutique shirt) was "fake."

United Kingdom and United States are next to each other on scroll down lists, I guess
