Do you think non-Coldplay fans do not belong here?

Hahaha! Every post Mark writes is so patronising like that, the irony is nearly everyone knows his brain and general points of view are fucked up.

Coming from Mr Facetious, that's hilarious!:laugh3:

I think you must be fangirlphobic.

so smart

If this is going to be another Mark against the world thread, then I'm going to lock it, simple as that.

We had that discussion a million times before, so if you want to keep discussing the actual topic of this thread, then keep to it.

So again: No personal attacks, this goes for you too, Mark.

Mommy he punched me first:

For the record the insults started with the language references so you shouldn't say "this goes for you TOO, Mark"

My point wasn't that you or anyone else started it, my point was that Mark likes to say that he's only attacking in self-defence, hence the "this goes for you too, Mark".

self-defence?

it's trolling.

for self-defence you use valid points and not "oh your grammar sucks" or "oh you can't understand because your lack of understanding of chinese" etc.

No it didn't. It began with your accusing me of having contradicted myself, which I hadn't. Therefore I responded to it.

The accusation was totally erroneous, so I had every right to counter it.

Anyway, what Imke said about the thread was correct. There was no reason for it to have veered off topic.;)

I just quoted two posts.

My point wasn't that you or anyone else started it, my point was that Mark likes to say that he's only attacking in self-defence, hence the "this goes for you too, Mark".

If you check back, you will see I was only responding to a false accusation. It should have been left at that as far as I'm concerned.

Counter accusations does not include degrading someone because of their English though, there are lots of non-native speakers around and their language skills don't make their points any less valid.

Like I said, you like to say you attack in self-defence, but you've attacked here although you haven't been attacked first and saying you've contradicted yourself is no attack and in no way comparable with making fun of someone's language skills.

Again, if you don't keep to the topic, I'll lock the thread.

I'm out soon, so you're gonna have to deal with other mods than me, and not everyone is as noobish and nice as me. :cheesy:

So how is making a false accusation against someone not an attack?

Back on topic, I stay out of the Coldplay section but I have been there to discuss things before. And as for fangirls they should be able to deal with criticism of their band if they have any intelligence.

Saying you contradicted yourself is not an attack, it's simply voicing an opinion.

If you don't think you contradicted yourself, then say so and say why instead of making fun of someone's language skills.

That's it from me, I'm out and I won't discuss this any longer, because I made my point crystal clear.

Exactly. In the same way that non-coldplay fans should respect that there are some people that like coldplay a lot, coldplay fanboys/girls should respect the fact that not everyone thinks coldplay are amazing as they think them to be and you shouldn't try and convince them of the fact.

Edit: But I don't think they should leave. I was a fangirl when I joined, but then I met a lot of awesome people in the lounge, my taste in music changed and I stopped liking Coldplay as much as I used to. I wouldn't leave because this place is still fun, I know a lot of people here and like talking to them, and I like to discover a lot of new music in the WoM.

This is me and my thoughts exactly.

Well I would never say that they dont belong here as they are forums which are not Coldplay related where anyone is free to post in. I just think that the non coldplay fans should respect the coldplayers and vice versa but overall anyone should be free to post without it being an issue

This.

The board would be a happier place if everyone just respected everyone else's opinions, even if they don't agree with them.

Technically we're all Coldplayers. Just saying.

But I agree with your post, that the respect needs to go both ways.

Oops I misread the question and clicked "yes".

But I meant to put that I think that it's fine if there are non-Coldplay fans here. I just wish that they would be respectful to those of us who are fans (not everyone is like that obviously, but there are some ).

Haha I misread it too. I just woke up! This question is complicated!

I'll just pretend I was being ironic or something...

Unfortunately, yes.:dozey:

Nope

I don't have any problems with non coldplay fans being here.
