Do you think non-Coldplay fans do not belong here?

Fair enough, but what she said wasn't exactly abusive, was it?:dozey:

I never said it was, I said it was a pointless opinion given only to stir things up, and it's the result of being so biased that she couldn't just accept that other people may not like Coldplay's music, and leave the thread alone. As I recall nobody was abusive to her either, some (Mainly myself) just highlighted that her only contribution was to get people annoyed by dismissing their opinions without giving her own.

That's why I disagree with you that 'people can be as biased as they like' because it just leads to fangirls acting stupidly and pissing people off. Of course she wouldn't be abusive, maybe that's not in her nature, but often fangirls on here won't say one directly offensive word about anyone so that once they've stirred everyone up the point that they are getting abuse for it, they can turn around and just go "Why is everyone being so mean to me?".

violetsparks - Yeah you have to move to the releases section to post an article that will get some decent responses and even at that the number of responses is little because the Releases section is taken over by these stupid Coldplay Song Games. It says something when the first decent discussion of Christmas Lights is in the analytical WOM section. Coldplaying and the WOM section hasn't really led me to bands that have gone on my iPods since because I do most of my music hunting on YouTube and then browsing the shelves on hmv but it has provided an excellent standard of music debate which is sadly lacking in the section which this website is built around.

Oh yeah, most definitely. You're actually able to have intellegent debates over whatever music in the WoM, and people are able to be quite civil about it. The WoM is probably my favorite section in the entire forum.

I think Coldplay fans do not belong here. Hah.

I think Coldplay fans do not belong here. Hah.

lulz

I joined this forum back when I was hardcore into Coldplay and I listened to them everyday. Today, Coldplay is just one of many bands that I listen to. For me, Coldplaying is more about discovering new music in the WoM and having great discussions with the many friends I have met here. To be honest, talking with my friends here is the most important thing I do here. I love them all to death and wouldn't trade them for anything. I'm not as hardcore of a fan as I used to be, but that's not because I don't like Coldplay. I still like them a lot, and "Swallowed in the Sea" will always be my favorite Coldplay song. I just have discovered so much music that I'm getting into now that I also really like.

With all that being said, I think anyone and everyone should feel welcome here, from the fangirls to the haters. Like someone said earlier (I believe it was Nattatouille. I think I spelled that wrong, so I apologize.), if we all had the exact same opinion about Coldplay, this place would be extremely boring.

You spelt it right :)

I have to agree with you. At first I think I was more obsessive over Coldplay. But my musical taste has changed and I've generally become obsessive over music and going to see bands live. That's why I like going around the WoM thread to meet likeminded people.

(I also muchos love for your underappreciated Wolstenbeast icon. Tis very sad but true).

I do have to admit, I do go on the Coldplay thread... But I generally avoid non-news/events/discussion threads because the rest (oh, excepting loldplay) make me despair because it's not about the music. :\ Also, people are highly scary in those threads and are always talking about luring 'Coldplay Band Member Here' to their bedrooms and stuff, and that sort of talk weirds me out. :stunned:

I can not answer that question :|

yes this is a Coldplay forum so yes there will be crasy fangirls that think the band is holy.

live with it !

and yes there will always be people who don't like coldplay and point out that they don't.

yet again, LIVE WITH IT !

I would replace 'especially' with 'only' there. There's plenty of fangirls (Take Destrokk for example) who simply go about their business, but there's a lot of fangirls who are pure trolls (And even if they don't mean to be, it's like natural). They react to criticism about the band with dismissal, and this arrogant attitude, so they get a mocked/hostile reaction, react with more arrogance and acting even more patronising, they get an abusive react, then they turn into a victim and every post is something along the lines of "Stop judging me as a person because I have opinions" and that can carry on for fucking ages.

But if they act in a respectful way then they will get respect back, if they act in any way rude it is likely they'll get a very bad reaction, mainly because the stereotypical Coldplay forum fangirl can be incredibly irritating.

Of course they should, nobody should be ignorant and being utterly biased to the point where you are just unreasonably dismissing other people's opinions yet unable to give opinions of your own (Wasting everyones time who've gone to the effort of expressing well-informed opinions) and that's always going to get mocked. Nobody deserves respect for being biased to the point where everything you write could easily be written by some other fangirl, just go back to some Chrissy thread and return to the normality of everyone agreeing with you 100% because that's the only way they can function. Fangirls have an awful, awful time dealing or accepting negative opinions.

I don't really know what the exact incident was that prompted the creation of this thread, but yes, some fangirls react badly to criticism. However, that talks more about maturity than being just a fangirl, I guess. I really consider myself a Coldplay fan and even I sometimes go  at things people say or post.

It also has to do with how the criticism was done. Again, I don't know what happened, but some people are also disrespectful when criticising. You may not like the band and I'm fine with it, people don't have to agree on everything, but there's a difference if someone says they don't like something and people just making sarcastic comments and telling others their taste in music is wrong. This go both ways cause I have also seen Coldplay fans telling the exact same thing to people who did not like them.

It depends on the person, I guess. There are irrational people everywhere, but fortunately there's also respectful people. I know you guys might not even go over the Coldplay section, but lots of people are doing pretty much what people do here. Not everyone, and not in all the threads, but sometimes they're just having fun with their friends. I get that there's a lot of "oh, he's so hot" talk and if that's the only thing you get it does get pretty tiring, but many people are not like that. They will post on silly threads and stuff, God knows I spent quite some time on the Buckland thread talking nonsense with my friends, but many people will also post on serious threads and talk about music and participate in serious debates about something. It all depends on the person I guess.

I am a person irrasionnal because I believe what I say and who speaks in all subjects of forums with nonsense.

I'm like all the fangirls?

Now I prefer to talk about sex all about celebrities, is more honest.

plus I never talk about music. it's boring music. it's called fiction. it's not going to feed me or show me love. Finally, we listen..

but it's been long since I stopped listening to music at home. before I had the music singers, and bands that did not make sense but who give me courage in life. not need to understand the lyrics. is fiction the music.

now I feel like I'm empty and no effect on musics emotional . lost feelings. and I have no courage in life.

I always think the opposite, the music makes us smile and bring happiness .. but the opposite now .

for example I do feel bad when crying

example listening to my favorite singer (she will never commercial, famous and blabla like all others singers) who inspire me in life and made me grow up or is as a friend invisible in my life .

her said in this new album that a musician friend scandinavian has committed suicide.

is like a boomerang I do not know why...

is never as when we talk about Elvis drugs and coldplay become cold-play . Fortunately, Chris and the Guys is famous for less place on empathy. saved .

but others less. feel my empty and it's lost .

Who says the Loungers have to stay in the Lounge?

I joined here because I really loved Coldplay overtime I have started listening to other music, partly because of discussions on here but I still listen to them and am still a fan. I have no problem with non-fans because this place is about discussing music and also the bad points.

Yeah what the hell is with 42.
