An afternoon update from #42

So there we have it - Glass Of Water is now out in the wild. The footage on the site came from Andy Bramley, the tour's wonderful video director - the entire XL video department played a blinder, I think you'll agree. I'll spare you the details of the chaos that went into making it happen at our end, but I think it was worth it and now we have the ability to do this, it'd be a shame not to use it again.... ;-)

 

So today, I'm in London. We are soundchecking at Jools Holland this evening. For those outside the UK, this is a television show which the guys have done several times before. I've always enjoyed doing it, as there are about half a dozen bands on each episode. This means that, as at festivals, you're always going to run into someone you know or get to watch a band or two that you might not otherwise check out.

 

The fellas are at the Q Awards this afternoon, which means they may be turning up to the soundcheck slightly giddy. Let's hope so, eh?

 

Right, I'd better get myself down to the BBC. In the meantime, here's a photo of Chris from Antwerp...

Good afternoon. We're very pleased to reveal that Coldplay have won two awards at the 2008 Q Awards, which took place in London earlier. The band picked up Best Album and Best Act In The World Today. Thanks to any of you who voted for them. What a nice way to start the week.

Good evening. Some news just in from our Orange County bureau; Coldplay are to play the Anaheim Honda Center on November 25th. Tickets will go on sale this Saturday (Oct 11th) at 10am local time from here.

i posted that i thought this in the first rotterdam thread in the live section! :sad:

 

i figured it would either be the westin by centraal station (my first guess), or the hilton above the VVV on the weena, in front of the popenburg fountain. i'm not sure i know where hotel new york is, but the westin in the millenium tower was my number 1 guess! i should have PMed you directly rather than written in the thread...stupid me :embarassed:

I wouldn't have read it in time cause I hadn't been online since thursday... I thought about it actually and we took Laurence to the station.. I was gonna tell chavi about it when we passed it but we were too busy talking about other things and we passed it already... don't think there were vans in front though...

that makes me feel a bit better, then. but really, i should have suggested my idea to you. rotterdam is the ONE city in the world where i would have a heads-up on hotels which to stalk (not even a city in my own country!), and i didn't tell you guys that would be there.

dont feel bad Chelsea really ! even if we wouldve known about it we wouldve been there and waited outside in the middle of night for nothing .. we went back home pretty late and we would have seen no one... and then the next day we left early for Antwerp. So no worries ! :)
