I see what you mean, I'll have a look during editing and see if it makes it any better, but I'm not sure if it will. The jump cuts are just to save from me going 'ummmmmm' or 'errrrrrrrr' or totally failing. They keep the news coming and make it hard to lose interest :smiley:

It's supposed to snow here like crazy (again) on Tuesday-Wednesday, so that's when I'm going to sit down and write my bit :D. However, I'm just kind of miffed that the only things to report are really gossipy sounding and about their personal lives rather than the music. I feel like I want to wash my mouth out for writing such tabloidy stuff :P

I think everyone just needs to use common sense when talking about rumors and the band's personal lives (though it sounds like everyone is being sensible at this point). We want this to be known as a credible source of information, so we should make an effort to emphasize what is rumor and what is fact. (I guess there could be a "rumor segment" at the tail end of the news...someone else can think of a catchy name for it) Still, I think we should limit ourselves with how much unconfirmed information is provided if at all possible. I realize news is slow right now, so this may be easier said than done. But we don't want Coldplaying TV to be discredited just when it's starting out.

 

YouTube video is good, and I'm not going to be too critical of it seeing as how it's merely an introduction rather than an actual episode. Some of the text used over the footage seems unnecessary (I mean the visual comments, not the titles), and I assume by "transitions", people mean dissolves and fades at each cut just so it seems smoother whenever cuts are made. Otherwise, I think the best approach to figuring the positives and negatives is just to get a full episode up and analyze it. Good stuff so far. Looking forward to the next step. :thumbsup:

 

Thanks for your feedback, it's really appreciated and I'm glad that you're waiting to see a full episode to judge rather than just hating it from the off! haha. I agree with not exposing too much about rumours but trying to keep it minimal and working with facts. A rumour section would be grand and we might do it when the rumours are flying about LP5 and whatnot! :smiley:

 

personally, i think using fades/dissolves more often than just plain jump cuts would actually make it look choppier. :\

 

what would be best is if as much as possible could be done in one shot, which would probably require a lot more outtakes than this video had. XD :P

Just added a new show to the roster, having taken feedback from the fans in this thread :smiley:

 

A new Rumour-Mill show will be uploaded either weekly on bi-weekly on Wednesdays.

This is a decision that is based on two factors, one being that it's nice to have something to bridge the gap between weekly news shows, and secondly I think it's important to keep Rumours and such-forth separate from factual information and news. Obviously this is not to say that there will be no rumours mentioned in the news show if it corresponds with a particular story, but for example the track-listing rumours come so thick and fast and change so frequently in the build up to an album release I feel that it would be somewhat contradictory and self deprecating to say, one week, have 'this is rumoured to be on the album' then the next week say 'oh by the way, disregard what we said last week' - I want to keep news as news and rumours as it's own show. The rumour mill show is still untitled, suggestions are very welcome, and I will be inviting fans of the forum to get involved vocally, visually and otherwise to share their views on current rumours.

 

so the roster now, looks like this:

 

Saturdays - Weekly ColdplayingTV™ News and Entertainments show.

Wednesdays (either weekly or bi-weekly) - Rumour Mill.

it was fun though.

The original uncut recording of me talking into the camera was 50+ minutes.

so to cut that down into 12 was tough, just trawling through alllll the footage to have it make sense was the hard part. Seriously, live broadcasting would NOT be for me! hah.
