I'm asking because it seems like everyone is desperately trying to find a new year's party they can attend. I dont get why most people feel like they have to go out.

 

I'm not talking about the kind of party you've planned for a long time and you know it's gonna be special simply because you've put so much effort into making it happen. I'm talking about the people who are trying to find a random party at the last second because "you have to" go out on new years. Many of my friends are like that and I dont get why. It's like you're a bit of a loser/bore if you wanna stay home. :thinking:

 

I'll be celebrating new years at home with my family and some friends to the family are possibly coming over. A few of my friends have asked me to come to random parties with them but I dont wanna :wacko:. I dont know if I feel like this because my birthday is on new years eve but I always think like I can go out on any other day so it feels better to be with my family on a special day like this :anxious:.

I'd totally agree it's overrated and expensive especially in Scotland where some of us have to put up with the whole Hogmany shite and 'tak a wee dram' (massive excuse to have a piss up) and all that ancient Burns bullshit. The sad thing is sense that some Scottish people look forward to Hogmany than they do Christmas Day!

At a friends massive house on the lake. Last party he had the keg went in the pool. This year I'm throwing one of his many couches in.

 

Every party he says "everyone is staying on the first floor", then everyone gets wasted and goes up and trashes the place.

That oesn't really work for me, I need my sleep :disappointed:... I've done that in the past and I was so hyper till 11am and then I just wanted to crash and felt so dizzy, not a good thing to feel at work :\
