i think i remember you, you shared some writings here, right?

are you yet on it?

Yeah that's right. I've started writing again this month, for the first time in three years :)

so ur a 13 lol?

Anyway. I hopped aboard the Google Express in search of a Coldplay forum. Alas...

Yes, counting is a wonderful skill.

I've only been a member of the forum for two years, but I had been snooping around long before that. I was always looking for cool pictures of the band and so I discovered Coldplaying around 2005. I saw that it had a forum, but couldn't figure out how to join and I was too lazy to look.

I was a big Coldplay fan and watched video's and stuff on Youtube ...

and I always bumped on pictures with "seen on Coldplaying" on it...

Then I joined..

on the Belgian fansite there are links and I clicked on coldplaying

yay, that's great news. good luck, keep on it

I don't remember how I found this site, maybe through mentions on fotolog, the Argentinian site or facebook. I used to come here looking for news but I was not part of it cause I had no time when I was in college. After I saw Coldplay live last Feb I was looking for sites of the band and I finally decided to join last April :)

I made these Lolplay pictures and submitted them on Y!A and someone suggested i join this forum and post them there.

I didnt even know exactly what a forum was at the time or how it worked but I joined anyways

made a thread (probably in the wrong section) and posted the pictures there.

Then Josh42 Yo dogged me

...except i didnt know what that was either so i just played along.

Didnt come on again for 5 months

then when i did i just generally made an absolute fangirling noob fool of myself before quickly discovering how thinks work in a forum and particularly ...this one -_- .

I stay because this place is a great source of information on the band and all sorts of other oddities.....even if it requires putting up with some .... some people :shifty: :dozey: and ive made some really nice friends while here whom i share a love for one of the best things in my life.

Round about late 2004- beginning of 2005 when I was completely and hopelessly obsessed with AROBTTH, my even more obsessed friend Joy started coming here for news about the new album and would tell me all about the things she saw on the forum. I started occasionally lurking here around February of 2005, got an account a few months later, and then started posting a few months after that. And have never left since.

So that means I started lurking here about 6 years ago. :shocked2: Holy crap that's a long time. At least in internet time it's a long time. The web has completely changed around us.

I built the death star.

Blown up any small planets lately?

I'm one of the oldies, and i still remember some people that used to post here, as the JoMiFiKiRenAle thread, ...Though i was unactive in end 2005 to mid 2007, the board seemed totally different since then.
I remember that thread :nice: Even if I never read it much or posted ever... Guess I thought it was where all the cool kids always posted and I didn't think I was worthy. Crazy that I'm one of the oldest ones around here now a lot of the time. Back in my n00b days I felt like I would never fit in with all these people who had known each other on here for so long.

Yeah, I hate to sound like a whiner, but things really have changed so much around here, even in just the last year or so. But then things change a fair bit every six months-ish... it's bound to add up over time I guess. I just wish more of the people and groups I used to really like were still around. The average age of the people on the board stays the same but I just keep getting older.

^ That last bit sounds incredibly depressing.

See it that way, maybe that proofs you are worthy and cool. ;)

Yeah i noticied all that aswell, i felt as a n00b when i was back in 2007, i didn't knew and never know what happened in that gap of time (since late 2005), so i felt like everything was new again, in a weird way, people that used to post where gone, and there were a lot of 'newbies' with lots of post, friends and groups that i didn't knew how to fit in, yet i feel i never fit in here anymore. :|

I was just looking for pics..then I saw the forum and read some of the threads...I guess it's because of the threads on The Lounge that encouraged me to join here haha

I joined after my first coldplay gig and was just randomly looking for coldplay stuff and stumbled upon this here lovely place. Was a bit obsessed for a good while and posted nearly everyday and I've only recently come back to have a little lurk and such

So yup that's it :)

Has everyone changed their usernames???! I'm lost :stunned::laugh3:

I don't think it is. I'm actually enjoying getting older. There are more advantages than disadvantages. It just means it's harder to fit in when the next generation starts taking over the forum.

Most have, I think. It is very confusing. I used to be Erin a very, very long time ago, though I don't think we ever talked much.

Ahhhh I do remember you!! :)

Its all so unfamiliar now though :(

I was already registered at the old forum, the one that official website had before, but it closed and i remember this one already existed so i registered here.

I kind of have to agree with you on the forum changing, and not always for the best. From what I've seen in the past couple of months there's a lot more animosity and illiteracy. I guess that's the internet for you these days. Haters gonna hate.

I always liked the idea of becoming a moderator here, and I still do, because I really believe this board can be such a wonderful place with, you know, the proper management.

Well, if this happens to get read by Ian or someone else: you know where to find me ;)

God, these kinds of posts make me feel so old :P

I met a girl via myspace.. She told me about this place and after lurking for over 2 months I started posting.. My english was really crappy.. So.. was really hard for me to say something smart or actually post in an interesting thread.. But after a few months I got to meet people and made friends and Coldplaying.com became my happy place :awesome: until I started college and when I came back, this forum was no longer the same because it was invaded by people who thinks that viva la vida is coldplay's best album ever [/emo]

If you starts an oldies thread, I'm sure the old gang will suddenly come out of the woodwork for us :P

some of the oldies made some random come back at times, but didn't stay long :( sadly.

I found wikicoldplay through google, then I found coldplaying, then I discovered the forum. I lurked for months before I joined though.

I only joined because I was tired of it randomly not letting me lurk without having an account.

pretty much this :awesome:

I only lurked for a bit because I wasn't sure how to navigate the forum very well
