October just seems so far away. Definitely because they said in the beginning that it would be released in the begin of 2010 then the end of 2010, later the begin of 2011 and now October :(

 

I don't know what I have to believe but they don't say that October is not true, they just not officialy announced it.. So I think the chance that the fifth album will be released after the (summer/spring) festivals is quite big

 

but I think it will be worth it! :)

Definitely!:D I would much rather wait for an official release date from the guys.

I'm less worried after knowing that Radiohead and more recently Arctic Monkeys have announced their new albums in a short time, saying nothing about before... So maybe we don't have to wait until October, Coldplay can surprise us too! :)

(RTTNews) - Coldplay have spoken out against rumors suggesting the release of their fifth studio album has been pushed back to October.

 

Word of a possible delay first spread after a message appeared on the fan site coldplaying.com in which a source claimed to have firsthand knowledge of the delay.

 

"I can confirm the change of plans in the Coldplay camp regarding the schedule[d] release of LP5, originally before summer. Hope people can wait until October," read the message from the unnamed source.

 

A rep for the band has officially denied the claim, however, and says the band's new album is still on track for release sometime this summer. The new album will be Coldplay's first since their smash hit 2008 release Viva La Vida (or Death and All His Friends) and frontman Chris Martin says it will delve into some heavy terrain.

 

Last year he told ew.com the album will follow "two like-minded outsiders who meet in a very difficult environment and therefore have a journey together."

I think the article is derived from the MTV one where they denied "ANY" release date be it October. These guys just rephrased as "Summer release" but it wasn't mentioned anywhere in that MTV article. I also want the album to be out this Summer !!! but a credible source must be there to confirm.
