Lol

When you type "Lol!!!111" do you actually laugh out loud, or do you just say "lol" to imply that you found something funny?

If I actually laugh out loud, I tend to type something like "I seriously lol'ed". :nice:

So what do you do?

"lol" is for funny

more than three "ha"s are for real chuckling

any amount of capitalized "HA"s are for sudden forrealz laughter, with the more HAs there are, the longer the laughter is.

I was going to make this same thread the other day, I'm not even joking :o

I'm not sure, but I don't think I laugh when I use lol. I think I use "xD" if I actually laugh out loud.

Theres this girl in school that in every status in her facebook she puts lol.

Like, "lol, going to bed" "lol, i hate my mom" "lol, went to see Let Me In" "lol, baby tonight the dj's got us falling inlove again(8)"

^REALZ.

This should get into Wikipedia :wacky:

I never type lol, unless I'm being sarcastic. If something's funny, I say 'ha' (multiplied by the funniness level). Basically what Sara said.

I also only use one "hah" for an insult, like if somebody said something meant to be OMG FUNNAI but it was not. I feel like one ha is just an acknowledgement of something that is supposed to be funny and I use it to discourage the funny-maker from ever saying anything again.

This is me!

I hardly type "lol", but when I type it I did really laugh out loud (happens at work sometimes as well :S)

It's either something is moderately funny, or I was being sarcastic. If it's really funny I'd type 'hahahahaha' or 'bahahahaha'.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA is for sarcasm when something is too ridiculous, or when I am making fun of a friend or something.

I dunno. If I typed "lol' in my sentence that means I would be smiling if I was telling that same sentence in real life.

I mostly use 'Lol' when something is really funny

^this.

though depends, other times i indeed LOL but i don't write it.

I don't think I ever used it. Usually I just go for "hehe" and "haha".

Lol used to just irritate the shit out of me me when it first come out, cause everyone just seemed to use it in everything and didn't actually LAUGH OUT LOUD, but now I'm less annoyed by it cause people seem to use it less frequently and if they do, it would probably be for more sarcastic reasons.

I use lol for something that's a little bit lollsy - much like the smilie implies ---->

Whoa! :surprised:

I also say lulz.

As do I. But I only say lulz when I'm just thinking "That was only slightly funny"

I love that smiley and overuse it, but sometimes it just looks a bit too happy. :anxious:

I usually just say it was funny, or use singular or multiple versions of 'ha'.

I think the only time I type lol is when I want to use the lol smilie

I almost never lol, sometimes I have lol'd, but I never just lol. I do "hahaha" though. What I think is kind of annoying is when someone says it in real life, I mean, if they actually thought it was funny they would probably have laughed.

Never use lol or lmao or lmfao or flmfao or flmfaohs (holy shit).

I use haha, which can be anything from not finding it remotely and having no expression to finding it funny and having not expression to finding it funny and giving a small grin of amusement :nice:

Hahaha is when the grin is turned more into a smile, the upper cheek muscles are now getting a small workout, it's also the first sign of a noise being made, a few small breaths and a "Huhuh".

I go hahaha and then "I lol'd" whenever I have a small laugh for a few seconds.

HAHAHAHA are those rare moments when I find something hysterically funny that I keep laughing at it everytime I read it.

Then if I'm in fits of laughter it will be HAHAHAHAHAHA and then when I've recovered I will tell the person how much I laughed.
