January 25, 201115 yr http://www.moviefone.com/oscars-academy-awards/nominee-winner There's no real bystander this year. Should be a close race for best picture. It'll either go to The King's Speech (which it should) or The Social Network... which it shouldn't. Anyway, I'm rooting for The King's Speech, Inception, True Grit, Black Swan, and 127 Hours. All fantastic movies, all deserve awards. I think James Franco definitley deserves best actor though.
January 25, 201115 yr I was glad to see James Franco nominated as best lead actor! lets hope that the social network is not gonna win in every category again. that movie is good, but not that good.

I couldnt agree more! I soooo hope Franco gets it, he was brilliant in 127hrs! And you're so right about The Social Network!
January 25, 201115 yr YES!! Finaaaaaaally Christian Bale is nominated!!! He should have been for 'The Machinist' and 'Rescue Dawn'. Same for Colin Firth!!!! January 26, 201115 yr Awesome! But how could the best picture not have best director? It looks like they just pick some good movies for that one.

February 9, 201115 yr Author My picks: Best Actor: Colin Firth (King's Speech) or James Franco (127 Hours) Best Actress: Natalie Portman (Black Swan). Best Picture: King's Speech. Best Director: Joel and Ethan Coen (True Grit). Supporting Actress: Helena Bonham Carter (King's Speech) Supporting Actor: Geoffrey Rush (King's Speech). Screenplay: Christopher Nolan (Inception). Score: Hanz Zimmer (Inception). Film Editing: Andrew Weisblum (Black Swan). Visual Effects: Paul Franklin, Chris Corbould, Andrew Lockley & Peter Bebb (Inception). Cinematography: Roger Deakins (True Grit). Costumes: Jenny Beavan (King's Speech) Can you tell King's Speech was my favorite movie of the year? :P
February 10, 201115 yr It'll either go to The King's Speech (which it should) or The Social Network... which it shouldn't. Sorry, but no. The King's Speech was nice and well-acted and uplifting and such, but fairly corny and not really very groundbreaking. (It definitely is good though!) It's gonna be between Inception and The Social Network, and The Social Network should win, but I'm thinking Inception is more Oscar-flavored than TSN. I'm seriously seriously hoping TSN will win like everything. I'm in love with that movie. btw, I haven't yet seen Black Swan, though I definitely intend to. Mostly cuz I'm not old enough to go with anyone really besides my dad and I hear that there's lots of masturbation and stuff in it which would just be awkward with family members, my dad especially, haha. Also, True Grit should win something, unsure what, though. Maybe best supporting actor or something? They'll almost certainly get best director. And if Hailee Steinfeld got Best Supporting Actress I would be really happy, because she did a genuinely good job.
February 10, 201115 yr The Social Network is incredible. Kind of sad Justin Timberlake wasn't nominated for supporting actor. He was really really great in TSN. He was PERFECT for that character.
February 10, 201115 yr Yeah he was, he did a really good job. Also, I say this every year, but I'm really annoyed how in each category the nominees are basically "Inception, Black Swan, The King's Speech, The Social Network, Winter's Bone", etc. (Plus some of "The Fighter thrown in for shits and gigs" :P) I haven't seen all of them but I guess they're just the only actually good movies this year, but that makes me sad cuz they have to just nominate one movie for like everything each year...
