...you guys would probably never imagine me liking that band but in HS I was obsessed with their music. Looking back it's funny and kind of embarrassing

Honorable Mentions:

Communication Breakdown and D'yer Ma'ker by Led Zeppelin

But hate is such a strong word... I used to love and now don't really love would be more accurate for anything I would pick.

This question is so hard. :bomb:

This one seems good. The beginning lyrics in particular pretty much match my life right now.

I don't hate this song but from the first time I heard it I thought it was really really good and the lyrics about a dethroned King with the use of Biblical imagery was fantastic. However it was overplayed to absolute buggery and if it comes onto my ipod I often find myself skipping it. There's only so much you can take of queasy, pounding strings.

I don't really hate it but I got tired of it

I realised how bad it was.

My friend would not stop singing this song every single day during the school year, and she kept singing it in this "pop-ish" way that drove me crazy.

I was OBSESSED with van halen in high school, and had seven of their records (with all three singers, mind you)

I was that idiot kid who tried to shred his way to getting girls to like him. And it worked. But it wasn't until I got hurt when I realized that music was terrible and started writing good material.

my pick? I have to brace you guys for this.... This is going to sting... I despise this style of music, but for a hot little minute, I wanted to be this guy... I was young and stupid...

I could probably name a number of Coldplay songs, but I'll go with something else...

Can't do one... I'm a top five guy...

Clint Mansell - Death is the Road to Awe

Explanation: This is one of my favorite films, and my absolute favorite film score. This song in particular is flawless from start to finish and blows me away every time I hear it.

Badly Drawn Boy - You Were Right

Explanation: my favorite love song. Its quirky, infectious, epic, and the lyrics are brilliant. I've always had a soft spot for Damon's music and this song in particular.

Leonard Cohen - Suzanne

Explanation: Leonard Cohen is my favorite poet. Tops my list for "Greatest Lyrics of All-Time." The album it came from "Songs of Leonard Cohen" is also one of my favorite records.

Frederic Chopin - Nocturne in Eb Major No. 9 Op. 2

Explanation: Chopin is my favorite composer and (needless to say) pianist. This piece captivates me with every nuance.

The Beatles - Rocky Raccoon

Explanation: This is my favorite Beatles song, for sentimental reasons. My dad used to sing this to me as a small child, as a lullaby of sorts. He would act out the song as a play, starring my stuffed animals. I didn't have a raccoon; they were all koalas and tyrannosaurus rex. I can't believe someone made a World of Warcraft rendition.
