June 17, 200620 yr THOM IS BACK! lol this'll make you laugh. i was told yesterday that one of the daughters of the president came to NY show 2. we were playing THe Tourist at the end of the show.. and yyes we did wander what the shuffling manhandling fighting was in the distance of the audience. turns out it was her 6 bodyguards clearing the way for the first daughters exit. and some pour soul objected at being manhandled by the secret service. i think i would have to. infact if i had known all this my objections would have been more forthright and extensive...if you know what i mean. which is perhaps why our lot chose not to tell me who was in the building before we went on. probably a good idea. hmm i dont know if we should be A. honoured B. amused C. bemused D. ask if she had a valid ticket E. object belatedly on moral grounds F. ask again if she had a ticket and question whether this really what our gigs are about G. dont blame the daughter for the father H. shutup and smile answers on a postcard bonaroo today woo hoo Thom

June 18, 200620 yr did Radiohead get a change to be seen on at the blueroom?! OMG that is a shitload of songs! I did not expect so many ... that's nuts :freak: and such a great set list too :disappointed:
June 18, 200620 yr wow....i want a concert!!! :( i remember in that eraser interview you posted yesterday...he didnt rule out doing gigs ....wow that would be amazing :stunned:
June 18, 200620 yr no:( I don't understand why they didn't blueroom a highlight of the show...maybe it was choice of Radiohead  But I mean, they did have tom petty and the heartbreakers in the blue room. that is bad... Nik..keep me posted on any bonnaroo performance stuffs
June 18, 200620 yr ^^^ why? when i see last night's setlist of radiohead that includes 28!! songs i instantly rememeber all 18 in the same order every single fucking night (with coldplay).with one encore that MUST finish with fix you. god forbidd to make some effort and practice other songs.
June 18, 200620 yr ^^^ hmm i have to say i am not guing to sit on the fence...i definately agree.i mean i know they dont have a back catalogue as big as radiohead...but they could mix the order up or change songs somehow.i mean radiohead are just a perfect band to me :nice: they just get on with it.you know i will not be protecting coldplay because i can admit their faults...like you can
June 18, 200620 yr yeah..why shouldn't we..at the end of the day i think it makes me even a greater fan of them (coldplay) then i already are. they make too big mistakes because that's the easier away, got hyped in the whole global-company-shit and there's no way of leaving it, not with all the kids on the way and those that already are...
June 18, 200620 yr Holy crap... that Bonnaroo setlist... I wish I went now... :stunned: Too bad I had finals this week, and not last. I agree with you guys, it's so obvious who the big one is here. When I saw RH in concert it was just glaringly apparent that they are..... so much BETTER than Coldplay. Musically, both bands do different things for me of course. But... live... Radiohead AMAZED me. I worry for Coldplay, it's so easy to get burned out doing the same fucking setlist every time you play. At least with Radiohead they keep it fresh and keep all of the fans on their toes. Coldplay can at least bring back some old stuff, maybe try a few b-sides out, just fuck around for once instead of being such squares when it comes to setlists.
June 18, 200620 yr hmm it makes you a better fan if you admit their faults i guess.you obviously mean with all the kids the guys are having...waht with will and chris's kids and guys coming as well? hmm i dont see jon, will, guy liking this sort of business though...i mean i think they would prefer to get out of the whole system ...chris i think hates it for the fact it intrudes his private life..but otherwise i guess he asdores the attention it brings him musically
June 18, 200620 yr Well I couldn't consider myself a true fan if I blindly loved everything the guys do. And it's not that I don't enjoy the Coldplay shows I go to. It's just.... They have a LOOOOOOOONG way to go before they're up to the same par that Radiohead is at. They're still a relatively young band, but that shouldn't be an excuse to take the easy way out each night. People like some intimacy, and sometimes that can come out with a setlist (it shows that the artists put thought into EACH show and not generalize every single one). Sometimes I wonder if Coldplay plays gigs to get them done or to enjoy them.... :\
