i actually quite like in rainbows during the summer months.

Yeah, whenever I hear the suicidal narrative of a song like Videotape it makes me think of sun and fun. I'm just joking :)

  • Lol I haven't been here in 5 years but I decided to pop my head back in for some nostalgia. Seems like this was my last post so here's an update... I finally saw Radiohead live in Manchester in 2017 a

yeah somebody on a Finnish forum said that Scatterbrain and There There warm up the summer days even more. hmm haha

I only listen to Coldplay in the summer. Nothing else.

Probably only X&Y, too.

found this

in an interview with EWMusicMix Selway has now dampened hopes that we’ll hear a new Radiohead album this year, by revealing that “It’s not finished yet. It’s still ongoing.

Selway says that the band’s time in the studio has led to some “very productive, very creative sessions, [but] you don’t want to start summing them up until you’ve actually finished. I think that’s when you get the real hindsight on it, and the real flavor of actually what went on.”

“We keep on hitting those points where you think, ‘We’re there.’ And then [later] you think, ‘No, it’s not.’ We’re having a break from it at the moment… and then we’ll come back to it later in the summer and see where we are.”

listening to ok computer at the moment........something i do quite sparingly even though it is my favourite album of all time. each and every time i listen to this album it is an experience, something i dont get from any other album.

We'll have to start a seperate LP8 thread once the hype machine gets going.

I've been listening to this cover of "The Headmaster Ritual" recently. Being a big fan of both Radiohead and The Smiths, I approve  I would like it if they'd do another album of straight forward rock music. That ship has probably sailed, though.

:nice:

Edit: Does anybody find it mildly freaky that Radiohead're still together after like 20 years? Cuz I just realized that. Bands never stay together that long. weird innit

^^

they're not alone. and who wouldnt want to stay in the "best" band of the last two decades (alongside pearl jam of course)

^ Well you would be after being in a band for so long! :wacky:

Yeah but it's not like they became friends just because of the band, is it?

And with solo albums and all that it's pretty impressive.

I think solo albums/breaks help the band.

I mean when you spend so much time together recording, playing live, hanging out or what not they're going to probably get tired and annoyed from each other.

It's like The Beatles... They spent pretty much all their time together within the span of like 10 years that by the end they hated each other.

Aah yes, this is from their Thumbs Down webcast isnt it, I have nice memories of watching that as soon as it aired :D I didn't know much about The Smiths when they played that so that helped me look up more of their songs. I guess thats the good thing about bands covering other bands, it gets people interested and involved with other music they wouldnt even have listened to otherwise.

I have never really subscribed to this theory. These days, you don't need to be in constant contact with other members of the band. Aside from recording and playing a couple hours live every other night, they don't need to be in contact with each other. On the road, these guys stay in 5 star hotels and have people who do everything for them. They've got it hard coming up, but once they've made it, they become big babies. Is showing up 4 nights a week to jam with a few guys for a couple hours too much to ask?

I think its really hard to spend so much time together. Especially when you have to make music, you have to try so many things and play it over and over.

We should be lucky Radiohead is still together.
