Radiohead

Will they come to Australia??

I bought 'In Rainbows' 2 days ago. My first Radiohead album!!! It's quite the cool. I plan to get OK Computer next, unless you ppl can convince me otherwise.

But if they come to Australia, I'm seein them!

perhaps getting the bends is a better choice. i still prefer OKC somehow, but The Bends has some catchy tunes and wonderful lyrics.

Radiohead beaten to top spot by Oasis

Oxford rock band Radiohead have seen their 1997 masterpiece OK Computer voted the third best British album.

Britpop veterans Oasis have demonstrated their place in music lovers' hearts by securing first and second places in the new chart.

The Gallagher brothers' 1994 debut, Definitely Maybe, came top in the poll by music magazine Q and retailer HMV to find the 50 "Best Ever British Albums".

Radiohead's came third in the poll, followed by The Beatles' Revolver and The Stone Roses' self-titled debut.

The group also see their second album The Bends come in at number 11 and latest offering In Rainbows make the number 40 spot.

The rock-dominated chart also features records by The Clash, Pink Floyd, Depeche Mode, The Smiths and Queen.

Q editor Paul Rees said: "It's clear that, having polled three times more votes than any other act, Oasis are undoubtedly the nation's most loved band.

"Similarly, it's evident just who music fans believe the classic and most enduring British acts of each era to be.

"And, by that measure, the likes of Keane, Arctic Monkeys, Muse and Amy Winehouse have emerged in recent years to be seen as genuinely classic artists in the eyes of the people that matter most - those who buy music.

"In a list that features the likes of Radiohead's OK Computer and The Beatles' Revolver this list is a testament to the popularity of Oasis and their music."

The full list: 1. Definitely Maybe - Oasis 2. (What's The Story) Morning Glory? - Oasis 3. OK Computer - Radiohead 4. Revolver - The Beatles 5. The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses 6. i don't like keane... they're like coldplay imitators i believe.

Theyre really not. I like coldplay about a million times more but Keane is good, theyre more like Radiohead if you listen to "Under the Iron Sea". some thom yorke- style lyrics and sounds definitaly

Keane are making their 3rd album atm I heard. I agree that they sound similar to both Coldplay and Radiohead, but they still bring out some good sounds. I think it's fairly cool that they can make that type of music with just the 3 of them, and only one guy playing keyboards.

But personally, I prefer a Coldplay style setup of guitars, bass, drums, keys etc etc.

the reason for the panic is because RH are playing amphitheaters that have a capacity of about 15,000 people whereas in Europe they are playing larger venues, festivals and castle fields that hold several times the capacity as the venues in the states.. That is why tix sold out here so fast... HUGE DIFFERANCE!

i think that list is pretty damn shocking. as much as i love coldplay, i'm kind of surprised they made that list, beating out led zeppelin and the who and bowie and the stones?! jeez. and oasis and even radiohead beating the beatles?! i like the list overall, personally, but it's just not something i ever would have expected. keane?! i like keane, but WTF?!

Coldplay shud be on top 10 for me and The Beatles shud be numb one, no one can be The Beatles except they are.. so they must now during Beatles' age there were not good enough media publicity as much as Oasis' age. we shud think about that, nowadays there r so many ways to grab an album from an artist in everywhere... coldplay is just a band tht produce gud music n lyrics tht can stimulate others who listen... thats what music for...
