September 19, 201114 yr Radiohead set for "The Colbert Report" on Sept. 26[/url]:dead: "I look forward to meeting the Radioheads and leveraging their anti-corporate indie cred to raise brand awareness for my sponsors." Dude I can picture Stephen saying that! Funny, I just started regularly watching the Colbert Report about a month ago. I can already envision Stephen interviewing Thom... that's going to be an instant classic.
September 19, 201114 yr CHECK DAS! 2 NYC RADIOHEAD SHOWS!!!! Gotta get tickets for the 29th!!! (I already have a different show on the 28th)
September 19, 201114 yr CHECK DAS! 2 NYC RADIOHEAD SHOWS!!!! Gotta get tickets for the 29th!!! (I already have a different show on the 28th) :awesome: I just checked DAS a few minutes ago and that wasn't there, WTF?!? edit: Wow, tickets go on sale only 2 days prior. What's the seating capacity there? edit 2: You must take picture wearing new shirt, with stage in background.
September 19, 201114 yr I'm so excited you have no idea.... even thinking about not going to my other concert to see them twice... but I can't do that. I wish that other concert was another night
September 19, 201114 yr I don't know what your second show is, but it's not as important as a second Radiohead show. Not even if it's a resurrected John Lennon. You're the board's biggest Radiohead fan (sorry, rest of you) and will kick yourself over missing likely variations in each night's setlist. (Though really, if it's a friend's show or some business thing, I totally understand. :P) And though they may not be shows anywhere near me, the fact that we actually have our first tour dates (not counting surprise appearances) since TKOL released half a century ago makes me quite happy because it means more are on the way.
September 19, 201114 yr hahaha! Well I've seen them twice already. And I know. The problem is that I already got tickets for me and 2 other people for another show and I'd look like an ass if I didn't go because of this. Also... that show you have to show up to get the tickets and since I bought them I have to go. Eiither way I know that these are just a few first shows. Ed said they'll play shows in 2012, so I'll catch them again then. But I HAVE to get tickets for Friday! At all costs I need to get them. I'll be refreshing ticketmaster like hell next week
September 19, 201114 yr Oh, it's will call? I always hate that. But like you said, they'll swing through North America more than once, and NYC is enough of a hotspot to hit up multiple times.
September 19, 201114 yr yeah exactly... plus I plan to follow the band around on a few shows. if they do a full out tour I'm going to shoot for like 2-5 shows
September 19, 201114 yr I'm more hyped for these shows than I am for Mylo Xyloto. :( I'll probably only see Coldplay at festivals this time. While MX has disappointed me so far, I'm more turned off from their live shows by the fact that they charge ridiculously high prices in venues that charge a whole lot less for other bands. It looks like the Radiohead shows will be pretty expensive, but not on the obscene arm-and-a-leg levels of a Coldplay show. *really hopes Radiohead at Coachella rumor holds true, but is skeptical*
September 19, 201114 yr Does anyone think they'll come to Vancouver? or Seattle? I really need to see them.
September 19, 201114 yr I think they will eventually when they go on a full tour. I remember seeing those locations being places they've played before.
September 20, 201114 yr It's surprising that it's been so long since they've toured. It's been a handful of one off shows over the last 4 or 5 years.
September 20, 201114 yr There are 4 openers: Four Tet + RocketNumberNine, Falty DL, Pearson Sound jesus that is an incredible line up brb killing myself But on the other hand, I don't think I'd enjoy that too much. Four Tet's live set does not fit a radiohead fan/support slot atmosphere at all. When I saw him it was midnight in an empty pool full with people wanting to party. It was perfect. I assume the same would apply with Falty DL and Pearson Sound, but I'm sure RN9 would be a great opener.
September 21, 201114 yr http://www.pitchfork.com/news/44064-thom-yorke-radiohead-tour-next-year-side-band-with-flea-finishing-album/ Radiohead's Thom Yorke co-hosted Gilles Peterson's BBC Radio 1 show tonight, chatting and playing music for two hours. During the show, he dropped a few choice morsels of information, as Radiohead fan site Green Plastic points out. First and foremost, Radiohead are planning to tour next year. Yay. And Thom is also close to finishing an album with his band Atoms for Peace, which also features Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers and producer Nigel Godrich. Yay? He also spun a lot of records, including tracks by himself and Radiohead, Flying Lotus, Jai Paul, Modeselektor, Thundercat, and Jamie xx's highly anticipated remix of Radiohead's "Bloom". Listen to the whole show here.
September 21, 201114 yr Sometimes I just don't understand how musicians have time to fit everything into their schedule. And I'm not just referring to Thom here. How on earth is Flea fitting in time to record in the studio? Isn't he on tour with RHCP right now?!?
