Do you only need an ID to pick up the free tix? Im giving two friends the tix I won. I have VIP tix, so I'm using those. I'm picking up the free tix, but I want to make sure my friends can get in after I get them.

Priority tix

Anyone know for sure what the deal is with the priority tix bought off of ebay?? I was told by one of the ebay vendors that he'll put my name on the priority ticket and as long as that name matches my id then I'm in (so I bought them). However, I recently heard that the original ticket winner's name will also pop up on a scanner when the ticket is scanned and that name must match the name on the ticket. Looking for some info from someone who really knows. Kinda bugging out about not getting in tonight.

Has anyone seen this? Does this mean new NEW songs?

Coldplay will begin the next stage of their aggressive – if somewhat confusing – plan for promoting their forthcoming fifth album on tonight's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. The band, who have yet to announce a title or release date for the record, will debut two brand new tunes on the show, which will be filmed on location at the Los Angeles Tennis Center at UCLA. From there, the band will headline Lollapalooza in Chicago on Friday night, make appearances at the Austin City Limits and iHeart Radio festivals in September and then, maybe, actually release a new record.

I think it just means they will be airing the newest songs. As we have seen from the festivals, the new songs have been played and we already have heard them! :D Most people do not go looking for new songs as we do here on Coldplaying! :D

I will be so pissed if it turns out they're playing two new songs and I chose not to go to this gig. :( On the other hand, they may have meant MM and MTM since those are "2 brand new songs" on the EP?

Any streams, to make me feel better?

MTM = too slow for a live show, no?

Chris said iTunes was the last time they would play that live.

When did he say that? Not saying you're wrong. I have no idea. Just curious.

I liked it live :(

Ofcourse it are just 2 from the songs we heard already (Maybe major minus and charlie brown). How do you get people to watch sometime? Advertise in a good way. And this is happening now.

On pinkpop (at the start of the tour) there was also said: we offer you 2 complete new songs!!!!!

It became Major minus and charlie brown, for the 90% off the people who didn't see rock am ring, they were new yes.

"We've never played this song live before and, depending on the next five minutes, may never play it again."

We don't know what he thought after the five minutes but he didn't play that again since iTunes... it's strange

Oh yeah. We'll that song kind of fit the little gig they were playing. Ever since then they've been playing much larger shows. Maybe when they start playing the small venues again they'll play it again.

MTM = too slow for a live show, no?

Not a very strong argument because MTM gets pretty loud; not to mention: Us Against the World, the Scientist, Life is for Living.

I don't think that's something to be taken literally - Chris was just self-deprecating about the song, basically, telling everyone it sucks even though it clearly didn't. Fuji and Splendour aren't really the right concerts to know if they'll play it again...they're festival shows and Coldplay is restricted by that.

Just finished making my MX UFO shirt complete with a major minus media patch. Can't wait for tonight :D

The RS article clearly states which songs will be on Kimmel:

The band will reportedly play two new songs – the single "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall" and "Charlie Brown" – live on location at the Los Angeles Tennis Center at UCLA.

Ah, I missed that article. ETIAW isn't exactly 'brand new' anymore, lol. It'll be cool to hear Charlie in that environment though. :)

So Teardrop and Charlie Brown will both be televised? :O?

So I've been here for like two hours or so and I was lined up at the wrong spot before so I am currently 4th in the correct line for priority access. The line is on the soccer field. Also we were told that people who have been here the longest get. The better tix. One guy who's setting things up also warned us that they will be able to tell if you bought tix from ebay or stubhub and will not let those people in. I heard some of the souncheck but it was just a prerecorded live version they were testing.
