Will Mylo Xyloto leak? ** EFFECTIVE 16-10 LINKS NOT PERMITTED ** (PART I)

Mat Kearney was actually born in the town where I live. That's pretty crazy. I didn't think anything important happened here.

I like Mat Kearney but I thought the newest album was a train wreck :\

But that's my opinion.

I am surprised at how much I really dig the new album. Everybody's On the Run and Record Machine are probably my two favorite on the album through a few listens. Noel can really write some catchy songs, that's for sure.

Totally agree. I'm really into this album. I didn't dig the Beady Eye stuff as I'm digging this one.

Everybody's On The Run and (I Wanna Live In My) Record Machine are great songs. The Death Of You And Me still one of my favorites, though I have heard it a lot of times.

I'm now digging If I Had A Gun..., AKA... Broken Arrow and Dream On. Great tunes.

Hopefully trainwreck pun intended. I liked it because of the drums and the lyrics. He went back to what really made him famous. BEFORE Nothing Left To Lose.

While waiting on MX, 3 albums are keeping me sane. "Young Love" by Mat Kearney, "The Lady Killer" by Cee Lo Green, and Kanye West's "My Dark Beautiful Twisted Fantasy".

Mat Kearney's new album is amazing! I've been listening to that and Torches by Foster The People!

I'm pissed that Foster the People's "Pumped Up Kicks" is super popular.

It proves that people are slaves to a catchy beat. Lyrics are important, and these lyrics glorify school violence.

It is homecoming week at my university and they have been playing music outside for the blood drive. They played "Pumped Up Kicks" really really loudly the other day. Which I thought was ironic because it's about KILLING PEOPLE. IN A SCHOOL. WITH A GUN. Thanks for promoting that, Mizzou.

Dude. You are my hero!! Both kick ass. MK- find the the bonus track "Two Hearts" . Whole album described my heart breaking/ new love summer. Makes me feel proud to be a teenager in love.

Feist, Explosions In The Sky, James Blake, Stars, and Neon Indian are all keeping me busy. :)

Oooooo Feist has a new album?

Damn I need to focus.

Torches is amazing. I'm really into Foster The People right now. :)

I don't mind the song or the band, even though I don't get the crazy hype, but this is the thought I can't shake every time I hear the song. Glad I'm not the only one.

It just kind of makes me cringe.

Plus, his voice. I don't know why people complain about Chris' processed voice in Major Minus when the vocals in Pumped Up Kicks is a thing that happened.

By the way, compliments to you for that calendar. It's great!

Lol the irony. Pumped up kicks is good but overrated, Houdini is one of their best.

Helena Beat is good.

Promotes school shootings? It's a song. I don't see it as propaganda as you do. Watch the interview Foster the People did at Lollapalooza, they talk about how most people ignore the subject of the lyrics.

So many people ignore lyrics. Does that mean you should pile up violent crap in a really popular song?

Maybe you should sing things like "I turn the music up/I got my recordz on" instead.

Thanks! :nice: I didn't really think of doing one this time around because there didn't seem to be as much going on, but Ian asked me to yesterday, and today they announced like 10 more things they were doing :dozey:

I do think that "promoting" is a strong word--I don't think that's what they're doing at all. For me, the subject matter just makes me uncomfortable in such a popular song, most people ignoring them or not. I agree that's true that most people don't pay attention to those things, but I don't know, the way it comes off in that song is just odd to me, ironic or not.

The lyrics were made before it was popular, obviously. How were they supposed to know the song would take off and get to where it is now?

I'm listening now :)

It's much better than her last one it seems.

I hated that 1234 crap.

It's still the single. It was submitted to radio on behalf of the record company. I think they knew the lyrics and its implications.

Lol the irony. Pumped up kicks is good but overrated, Houdini is one of their best.

Houdini is a terrific song.

Before Pumped Up Kicks was even popular, I remember my friends saying, "Wow. This song sucks.". Not even a month later, all of my friends were on live with it. That drove me mad.

DAMN MAINSTREAM.

DOWN WITH RADIO.

DAMN MAINSTREAM.

DOWN WITH RADIO.

Srsly.

Radio-made music pisses me off.

I think claiming Pumped up Kicks is glorifying school violence or is promoting it is stretching way too far.

Making a piece of art about an issue /=/ supporting the issue.

I don't like the song, or the band. But I don't believe for a second that the band is supporting gun violence in school.

I don't think the band is supporting it happening in any way, I just think that it's dumb that people are pumping this through their headphones while not knowing what he's saying, what it's about or what it means. It's ignorant.

All the other kids with their pumped up kicks

you'd better run better run

outrun my gun

All the other kids with the pumped up kicks

you'd better run better run

faster than my bullet.

DAMN that's morbid. But it's okay B-cuzz it's super catchy!!!!!!
