When I first got Spotify, I listened to about 90% of his library. A great man, Sufjan is.

 

I turn into a weirdo with Sufjan's stuff. His album "Illinoise" the only album I can listen to while laying there, staring at the ceiling and getting lost in it: The narration, the complexity and the colorful orchestration.

 

Even Coldplay cannot do that for me. (Though Viva came close to subsiding my self-diagnosed OCD)

for me the hold-over album has actually been kasabian's velociraptor!

My holdover album came out today: James Morrison "The Awakening"

It's SUCH a good album and it calmed my anxiety over waiting for Mylo Xyloto to leak

It sounds like I should listen to this Sufjan guy.

 

However, Bon Iver has been holding me over. I cannot get over how awesome "Perth" is.

 

Perth is about Heath Ledger.

My personal favorites from Illinois, hands down: The Predatory Wasp of the Palisades Is Out to Get Us, John Wayne Gacy Jr. I also absolutely love To be alone with you from Seven Swans. And of course there is always For the Widows In Paradise, for the Fatherless In Ypsilanti haha.

Mmkay then, last time I checked the 19th is next week.

 

 

And for Coldplay's evolution. They have clearly changed since the early 2000's. Anyone who doesn't believe that is well.. wrong.

So it turns out that the jackass from skysthelimitleaks.com who claimed to have the album Mylo Xyloto, but was only given to 25 people due to "legal reasons", was full of shit!! Ya, he truly is amazing. I saw him last year in Portland and was in pure awe as he played. I love Age of Adz as well. Vesuvius made me tear up the first time I heard it. Simply beautiful. You also have to love Impossible Soul haha. Who doesn't like a 25 minute song about romance and break ups haha.

Ya, I actually keep Impossible Soul on my playlist when I'm working. It is quite the ordeal. I like All delighted people. It's not as strenuous as Impossible Soul haha. I have to agree though, hand down, Illinois is his best work.

I'm downloading 'Illinois' now, lets see if it's any good.

Fun fact about Sufjan: the first time I heard Chicago, I thought it was a woman.
